hello heres my first attempt at what I consider a decent GK list

Warlord: Librarian with Halberd and DLD ML3: 160

2 purifier squads at 141 points each and KOTF w halberd, 2 halberds and 2 incinerators.

Terminator squad w/ land raider transport: 453
Justicar with daemon hammer
2 halberds and 1 psycannon

1 interceptor squad: 213 points

Justicar with daemon hammer
5 falchions
1 incinerator

2 Dreadknights with gatling psilencers and personal teleporters and greatswords

So this is just 1508 points, however I just bought a new box of terminators and I havent really put a lot of though into the Dreadknights....So If you have suggestions on what to give any of these units or what to give the next box of terminators and what I should do with the dreadknights your critique is invaluable thank you very much!!

I'd suggest dropping the gatling psilencer on the dreadknights. The instant death is cool and all, but it only being S4 Ap- means it's not really ever going to kill anything, even with 12 shots/round. I suggest going with the Heavy Psycannon and Heavy Incinerator. The greatsword is an awesome choice. Having that master crafted melee weapon helps them out in CC. Plus, I think the sword looks awesome.

I'd turn the two Purifier Squads into one 10-man squad, so if you decide you want to DS the Terminators, you can put both combat squads of Purifers into the Land Raider (turn 1 as it is someone else's Dedicated Transport) and cruise them up the field, having two Cleansing Flames, to soften up the enemy when the ten of them climb out for an assault.

I agree that the Heavy Incinerator is a better weapon than the Gatling Psilencer, and it costs less.

That won't work. Once the Purifiers are deployed (outside the transport) they then split into combat squads, thus becoming 2 units. They can't climb into the same transport after that.

i was thinking about deep striking the termies with the libby and keeping the purifiers back field to embark in the land raider.

Should I give DMD to the libby for the extra spell or save those points for something else

also is it worth giving master crafted to my justicars with daemon hammers?

That changed a while back. Combat squads are declared before deployment and can enter transports together whenever they like.

Yep, from GK Combat Squads: "two combat squads split from the same unit can embark in the same transport vehicle, providing its Transport Capacity allows."

Embarking the Purifiers on the Land Raider is a pretty secure way to get them into the action, allowing them to assault without having to face the opponent's shooting phase.

Personally, I prefer the Cuirass of Sacrifice on my Warlord over the DLD for the extra survivability, and the lesser cost.

The risk to putting your Daemon Hammers on your Justicars is that if they get into a challenge, they are likely to die before they get a chance to attack back, because they are at initiative 1, and can't utilize Look Out Sir when in a challenge, and if he declines, he then doesn't get to attack at all. For that reason, most people give their characters weapons that attack at initiative, and put their hammers on models that can hide behind meet shields.

oh damn I already put a daemon hammer on my justicar in Interceptor squad but I feel they wont have to deal with too many challanges since Im basically putting them in the opponents back field to kill as much lighter stuff as possible and hopefully get first blood.

Also are we all in agreeance that 10 purifiers into the force is ok and would use up my 10 remaining PA GK meaning including no SS?

You could switch the Justicar's Hammer with a Halberd if you position the arms so the wrists line up. You could then put the Hammer on another model.

I personally believe the Purifiers are universally better than Strike Squads so long as you have a way to get them into the fight. Land Raiders are good but expensive, Rhinos are fragile but allow you to use Cleansing Flame even when moving at Cruising Speed and allowing you to move Flat Out afterwards so they're hopefully close enough to make a charge the turn after they're wrecked.

then what would you equip them with?

is it more what you have left point wise?

Allied drop pods are by far the best way of deploying Purifiers. Who knows why GW didn't give Purifiers deepstrike...

I am the Hammer. I am the right hand of my Emperor. I am the tip of His spear, I am the gauntlet about His fist. I am the woes of daemonkind. I am the Hammer.
