I've been trying to find out more about Mymeara lore because of the new vote in Eternal Crusade, but I cannot find any. I'm finding this page rather lacking, and everywhere else on the internet just echoes it http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Mymeara . Also didn't find anything on dakkadakka here.

I feel that I have no sense about their culture at all. I'm mostly interested in the lore angle for their inclusion in the game, but right now - save for the fact that they have Shadow Spectres and a cool color scheme - I don't see how the Mymeara would add anything particularly interesting to the 'character' of the Eldar faction in EC. Altansar, however, seems to be fascinating in terms of their potential for obvious reasons.

So what else do you guys know about Mymeara and their people or culture? (Bonus points for Yme-Loc )

It isn't "fluff" - it's lore.

I like Mymeara. You will find them in a certain IA book.

I really can't afford it :( I would love to, but even if I could afford it, well, I haven't been able to finish my last 40k novel which I started last year. No time!

So what is said that could be telling or of interest from that? Anything that isn't in the lexicanum?

There isnt a huge amount on Mymeara tbh in IA11. Realistically there are about 3 pages of fluff on it, the rest is split between imperial forces, Corsairs and Alaitoc.
They were effectively a Craftworld set adrift before the Fall, far from the epic centre. The were listless, preyed upon for years by orks and other froces until Irillyth, the Pheonix Lord arrived to warn them their path through the stars would eventually take into contact with a race whose power was growing. They would not survive contact with said race unless he and a war council were allowed to conduct a pre emptive strike. They were granted the request and years later Mymeara drifted through a set of worlds that held devastated cities and lands roamed by a "reptile-like race reduced to scavangers".
And so Mymeara drifted onwards trying to find Irillyth, and the council until they came across Betalis and hence IA11s setting.

I suppose you could angle the fluff they are a Craftworld seeking their "father" or "saviour", sort of on a Galaxy-wide hunt to find Irillyth, whom for them is their ultimate saviour and Pheonix Lord.

So Mymera is a more warlike Star Trek Voyager, but without the stupid captain, and no home to return to?

Isn't that what they were doing in (and succeeded in) IA11 in the first place? Of course, Irillyth was long dead but they recovered his "soul" to act as a phoenix lord, didn't they?

Irylith the person was lost to the Eldar people when he took up with Asurmen as one of the first Exarch.

Irylith the Phoenix Lord, like all Phoenix Lords, doesn't so much die as fall in combat. The Phoenix Lord is the armor, not the body inside. Like Exarchs, if the armor is retrieved, and another body dons it, the personality/soul merges with the Phoenix Lord. Unlike Exarchs, though, any given personality/soul is a pebble compared to the number and strength of souls that have already merged.

Mymerea recovered Irylith. Someone new donned the armor, becoming a small piece of Irylith.

Basically beyond the whole, saved by Irylith and thinking they were the last Eldar alive, there is little special about Mymeara.

And since the Devs have said they have no current plans for the Shadow Spectre aspect to be added to the game, I went with Altansar. They atleast have something interesting about their back story and can add something different.

Besides, even with out Mymeara there is no reason they can't add Shadow Spectres later.

What's that about not adding Shadow Spectres to the game? They already have rules and models...

Yup, pretty much, just giving the Op some ideas if he wants to fluff them out more. But as above, there isnt a huge amount on them nor are they that interesting imo. Ia11 was not FWs strongest outing :(

Exactly my reasoning when I voted Altansar. Man was that a tough vote, though.

Yeah, hopefully they win.
