So, I'm trying to figure out what I want to do in terms of a paint scheme for my Tau army. So far, I've found a few I really like.

The current leader is this one. I think the dark brown/orange looks really good.

There are also these three.

Sorry about the filter on that last picture. I loved the red on black with white highlights in that one though.

What do you guys think? Does anyone else have some cool paint schemes they'd be willing to share?

I think first or last. Anything is really better than the GW scheme though.

I like the gw scheme! And this should be in painting and modeling

My mistake. I seem to have overlooked that forum.

Purple.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

I have a few Tau models that I have painted. I went with dark blue (Caledor Sky) for the main color, with yellow highlights (such as sept markings). The only ones I have done thus far are some Fire Warriors and a gun drone (did those to try out my paint scheme, and it looks good!), but my plan for vehicles is to do a blue tiger camo scheme.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

That sounds pretty sweet. Do you have a picture of the FW you've done already?

Unfortunately I don't. I could see about taking some and posting them though.

That would be fantastic if it were not too much of an inconvenience.

Here's a couple of quick pics I took (if they suck, its because I'm using an old iPod touch):

These were among the first models I painted, so my skills have since improved, so my next batch of Tau models will (hopefully) look better, but these pics should give you the gist of the paint scheme.

That's pretty cool. I like that.
