I'm planning to put together a 50 man squad of conscripts. Was thinking about doing this using the cheaper 5 man boxes of Cadians, can do that for £45 vs £67.50, but additionally it'll be quicker to glue up and probably event paint since the arms and guns are tight against the chest.
While I understand there will be limited and fixed poses, are the actual casts of a similar quality to the standard boxes of Cadians or less detail?

there not quite as detailed in some regards. all the stuff is fixed 2 part design and yeah there limited.
there not bad by any means just the fact there a 2 bit design means some things might not be quite the same as the multi part kits.
if you do buy them, i recommend shaving down the peg at the chest on the arm/rifle at times. they don't always fit perfectly and sometimes need a minor trimming back.
(just what ive found, not sure if anyone else has found the same)

I have a bunch of them, they are similar quality to the regular ones other than the poses are as nice and there's a couple of spots where there's extra plastic (because it's a 1 piece torso, naturally to be able to remove it from the mould they can't have undercuts so there's a couple of spots where that shows). The main thing that sets them apart from the multipart Cadians is the poses. They have rather uninspired poses, they all look directly ahead. GW really should have designed them with separate heads, so that you could make them a bit more dynamic. I've seen some people who trimmed off the heads and repositioned them and it makes them look a lot better, but it's quite a fiddly operation. If you have spare heads from the regular multipart models you could use those to do up some of the monopose models, that makes it slightly less fiddly but still annoying. But other than the poses they are fine. If it weren't for the poses I doubt you could tell them apart from regular multipose Cadians. They are a lot faster to assemble. as jhe mentioned, just trim off the nub on the back of the rifle as it mostly just gets in the way. But I have timed myself, I can assemble the snap fit cadians (removing the nub, gluing them together and cleaning all mould lines) in ~4 minutes compared to ~10 minutes for the multi pose ones.

The $22.50 you save with them is not worth losing the dynamism of being able to position your models the way you want, nor is it worth losing all the extra bits you'd get to keep from multiple boxes of guardsmen. You get extra vox casters, special weapons, las guns, grenades, ammo pouches, etc. that would be extremely useful in other situations.
But I like converting and kit bashing so if that's not your area of interest then the clip models would probably be fine for conscripts.

Thanks all, I've bought one box from the GW store and I'm going to put them together later and decide whether to purchase the other 9 discounted, or potentially just one more box and 4 boxes of multi-parts. Automatically Appended Next Post: Spoke too soon, my wife was buying it for me but she just rang and they don't sell them in the store... damn. Will probably just mix it up.

That works out well in the end for you.
Remember that a Conscript Squad does not include a Sergeant, and you having those extra 5 pushfits means that you can build yourself 5 Sergeants in case you want to field those squads as regular infantry squads.
Or Special Weapons as well.

Personally I mix about 50/50 snap fit with the multpose ones for my regular (non-conscript) squads, that way I get enough parts to make sergeants and vox casters to go around and have tons of flamers, grenade launchers and spare ammo packs to go around if ever I need them. For Conscripts who can't even take special weapons and what not the only reason to go with the multipose ones is if you don't like the poses of the snap fit ones. Not much point having an extra 10 flamers, 10 grenade launchers, 10 vox casters, 10 sergeants, and so on if you're never going to use them.
