First time post so please bear with me,
I was wanting to do a drop pod list since I feel it fits the fluff (or how I envision it) more for this particular faction. Also, any tips when employing it would be greatly appreciated as I've never really fielded more than one drop pod. Anyway,

Tyberos -190

10 Tactical squad -213
Vet sgt w grav pistol
Flamer
8x close combat weapons
Drop pod

10 Tactical squad -218
Vet sgt w grav pistol
Meltagun
8x close combat weapons
Drop pod

10 Tactical squad -205
Vet sgt w plasma pistol and melta bomb
All with bolt pistol and close combat weapons
Drop pod

6 assault terminators -240 (counted as troops)

5 Sterngaurd -220
4x combi flamers
Sgt w powerfist
Drop pod

Ironclad dreadnought -180
Hurricane bolters
Seismic hammer w built in flamer
Drop pod

5 devastators - 130
4x plasma cannons

Landraider crusader - 250

1846 pts

So basically I was going to put tyberos and his terminators in the landraider to offer them some protection but I'm not 100% on the type or if I should just deep strike them in to provide support to a spot one of the places the pods hit. Anyway suggestions and advice would be appreciated.

You should model the drop pod as a one that would come up from below the ground--true shark fashion.

Help me, Rhonda. HA!

The Sgt with power fist is likely going to get challenged and die before he ever gets to swing or get challenged and kill something not so hot. Not huge fan of fists on sargents.

That may be true about the sgt but I'd like to have the option to use that squad as a last ditch to take out vehicles since there's not too much in this list for anti armor

I prefer melta on my sternguard over the flamers.

Looks like a good list I know space sharks are a forge world faction and there pretty kool. But you should add more anti armor maybe some combi meltas instead of flamers or a different heavy support option like a predator. Also worry about anti air for those players with 2-3 fliers.

I have been using a land raider full of terminators lately and find that it's a great way to support drop pods raining in if you can get it up the field quickly... to do this, I take a cheap Ordo Xenos Inquisitor with the Liber Heresius to scout move it up. You can even add some grenades for more fun and to help your LC termies out a bit (psychotroke in this case to possibly debilitate the enemy so you aren't depending on rolling 5++'s). It's 55 points for this guy, just bare bones with the relic and the grenades.

I'd free that up by dropping some vet sgt. upgrades and gear and I think you're good. I like them with a bolt pistol and combi-melta and added ccw (still get the extra attack). I would drop one terminator to also help find the points (but you'll need to keep the LRC if adding the Inquisitor :( because of transport capacity oh well... I really like the AP3 flamers of the LRR)

If you have any extra points, I'd go ahead and upgrade the dev squad to lascannons for long-range turn 1 support. Also, I'd take the extra ccw on the dreadnought with dual heavy flamers.

I would also swap the combi-flamers for combi-plasma or grav to give you some anti-MC on the drop. Although, their special ammo is also good enough for that, so maybe just some more bodies in there would be nice?

Fliers must not be an issue for you in your local meta, or perhaps you just don't want to worry about them, so if that's the case, cool. If not, you may want to consider dropping the dev team for a pair of Stalkers.

Ok, here's what I'd run using the units in your previous list:

Tyberos
Assault Terminators (5) - Land Raider Crussader
Tactical Squad (10) - pod, melta, combi-melta, ccw x10
Tactical Squad (10) - pod, melta, combi-melta, ccw x10
Tactical Squad (10) - pod, flamer, ccw x8
Sternguard (6) - pod, combi-grav x3
Ironclad Dreadnought - pod, ccw, chainfist, heavy flamer x2, assault launchers
Devastator Squad (5) - lascannon x4
*Or you can swap these guys out for dual Stalkers if worried about flier spam
Ordo Xenos Inquisitor - liber heresius, psychotroke grenades

Inquisitor cannot join with squads as they are desperate allies. So the relic is useless. When you run Carcharodons, you run them mostly alone. No one like them much, seeing as they have a habot of team killing.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

Thank you for the input, apparently I read the rule for giving an extra close combat weapon to tac squads wrong I always thought it could only be given to models with bolters but apparently I can give them all give them all an extra ccw. So I figured it would be a good idea to bring in a stalker to help in case I encounter flyers (normally I'm the one who brings them) but this is the list so far.

Tyberos

10 Tac squad 10x ccw, sgt w combi melta, flamer, drop pod

10 Tac squad 10x ccw sgt w combi melta, melta, drop pod

10 Tac squad all pistol and ccw, drop pod(I just got axes to give them instead of chain swords so pretty excited to have kitted out like this)

5 terminators in land raider redeemer

Ironclad assault launcher, 2 built in hvy flamers, powerfist, seismic hammer

7 sternguard 3x combi (haven't fully decided which ones to pick)

Stalker

5 devastators x4 hvy bolters

I guess my goal w vehicles is going to be to use the melta gun squad to try and get a cheap shot if not try to assault with tyberos or the dreadnought.
