Damnnn I just played my first ever game as Necrons against DE and got hammered pretty bad too. IF the game is rock, paper, scissors, I think DE is the paper to Necron's rock.

Depends on what the DE player is fielding, but mostly you just need to know what to focus down first when playing against them. My DE friend kicked my butt a few times back when I first started playing, but now I've learned how to deal with it, and he hasn't even tried to take on the Newcrons yet.

I'm sorry to say but the Overlord was supposed to die with the CCB. They are now treated as one model so if one dies, they both die. They have two profiles but that's for characteristic checks and different shooting attacks. So that turn that took half the DE players army to kill the Overlord on foot should have never happened. Although I don't mind seeing Necrons win, DEMAND A REMATCH BRAGGING RIGHTS HAVE BEEN EARNED UNFAIRLY!!
