Hey guys, I'm kinda new to Wood Elves but I've been playing our local escalation league and I'm kinda stumped as to what to add for my 2500 pt list. Here's what I have for my 2000 pt list from lat month:

Spellweaver
Lvl 4 of Shadow, Dispel Scroll, Talisman of Preservation

Spellsinger
Lvl 2 of Metal

Glade Captain
BSB, Gambler's Armor, Hail of Doom Arrow

Glade Guard x14
Musician, Trueflight

Glade Guard x14
Musician, Standard Bearer, Trueflight, Banner of Eternal Flame

Glade Guard x14
Musician, Arcane Bodkins

Glade Riders x5
Full Command, Hagbane

Great Eagle

Great Eagle

Wild Riders x6
Full Command

Wild Riders x6
Full Command

Waywatchers x5

I'm at 1990 pts right now. What else should I add?

Your Glade guard with magic Arrows can't take the Eternal Flame banner. That was the first thing that popped out at me. My big question is what else do you have for the army, because if I give you recommendation that you don't have the figures for it is rather pointless. You could use a combat block of something as that would give you something to fall back on. Right now, you are mostly counting on the Wild Riders for the whole combat phase, and The archers for the shooting. Because they have frenzy, The Wild Riders can be lead around by the nose. Any opponent worth their salt will do this, so you don't get anything valuable to kill. With your two Mages, I would make the Level 2, the dispel Caddy and give your level 4 something like Calangor's staff (for Tree singing) or get the Feedback scroll, Arabyan Carpet or Staff of Sorcery and Potion of Toughness. This later will boost up your dispel chances, and give you the extra toughness you need to survive if you wind up in hand to hand some how.

With those 500pts, i would get yourself a small unit of Sisters of the Thorn and a horse for your level 4. As she is in a bunker of Glade Guard, she is quite simply asking to have a stone dropped on her head or be the charge target of anything with a high movement speed. Glade Guard are expensive, a level 4 is expensive, having both in one fragile unit is asking for trouble. Sticking her in a unit of 5 Sisters with magic res 1 means they are practically immune to magic, to fast to be caught in combat and are easily screened from BS based shooting.

Your Wild Riders will be fine, chaff will be obliterated by shooting and the BSB will stop frenzy baiting. Then get another unit of Waywatchers. And make them bigger. Waywatchers rock!

With your last 200pts you could make either a War Dancer or Trueflight Deepwood Scout bunker for your level 2. As i said, having Wizards in Glade Guard units is usually asking for trouble.

The Sisters of the Thorn sounds like a great idea to me!

As far as what models I have available they are: 3 Treekin, a Treeman, a Treeman Ancient, 5 more Glade Riders, more Glade Guard (lol) and a lord/mage on a Forest Dragon.

I greatly appreciate the advice guys!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
How many Deepwood Scouts would be a sufficent bunker for my Lvl 2? Would I use them as scouts even though the Lvl 2 is in them?

I have to agree with the advice about putting the sisters of Thorns, but what I would do is put the level 4 on an Unicorn and give them the Lichebone banner then they will be Sporting a Magic Resistance of 2, which is a 2++ against magic missiles and the like, which is fantastic.

Out of the Stuff that you have, I would think about putting both Treemen in the army as that will give you a lot. A level 2 with Life would help your wild riders a good deal.

Bad call, as this loses the bus Fast Cav. Much better to put her and the spellsinger on steeds and give the spellsinger the MR (2) token.

Haven't ever been very impressed with treemen. Would rather have more waywatchers.

If a character joins Skirmishers, then the character counts as a Skirmisher. The reason Scouts are better then Glade Guard is because they can march 10'' and still shoot unhindered (If trueflight), this allows the mage to get into a better position and dance around charges better.

Treemen have been so-so for me. He'd probably work in your list as an anvil for the Wild Riders, but honestly i've found Wild Riders don't need much of an anvil and tend to slaughter anything they touch. So you could take a treeman instead of bulking up the Waywatchers if your looking for a more fun list. Simply put, Withering plus Waywatchers is plain broken, at least if your throwing a treeman in there face they have something to actually focus on.
