Hey guys!

I really love the new Codex Khorne Daemonkin and I love the model - but since it's expensive and I'll probably don't want to pay the bucks for one full Bloodthirster, I'm thinking about converting other models.

My best idea until now is the Balrog from the GW LotR franchise - but I really can't imagine how big he is which is the greatest problem with the Bt. Do you have any comparison?
I'm also totally open for any other good idea!

Balrog is significantly smaller, I believe (and presumably not allowed for GW tournaments/stores due to LotR licensing limitations, if that matters to you).

Daemons can of course look like anything - that's what's cool about Chaos modelling - but if you play serious games, you will want something close to the standard model's dimensions and weaponry and flying ability, and looking Khornish (as opposed to Nurgle/Tzeentch etc).

Is this for Fantasy or 40K? If 40K, one amusing option would be a more sci-fi look, along the lines of the daemon engines, and perhaps it floats/hovers in mid-air rather than needing wings.

Or a dragon would be another option if you want wings, although most of the GW dragons look a bit spindly to represent a Khorne mega-thug.

For 40k, sorry I did not mention that

I'm wondering what's about the much smaller, older models of the Bt, though. Are they not going to be used anymore?

Sorry bud, but the Balrog isn't even close to size to the Bloodthirster.

There have been many incarnations of the bloodthirster... Somehow, I'm sure that somebody would object to me popping out this though....

That's really something I've been thinking of. Especially: The Bloodthirster is also lifted up a little by the flames coming out of his jumping!

That bloodthirster comes from the 80's heroQuest board game. It's like... Two inches tall
