Hey guys. I'm just wondering if there's any word on upcoming codex overhauls after SoB? I'm thinking of starting a DA army, and was hoping for some kind of word on DA getting a new codex since the consensus is that time hasn't been that kind to them.
Yeah, I used to be itching for a new CSM codex. Now it looks more likely that we'll be seeing multiple supplements and sub-factions. Not that I'm complaining! I actually really like the way GW is releasing lately.
However, for an army like DA, I wonder if they would get a new codex, since they are somewhat of a sub-faction as it stands. Though even if they decided to release a new DA book, it will probably be awhile off.
"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"
There's a rumored schedule making the rounds on blogs and fora that states that Eldar, DA, Tzeentch, Genestealer Cults, Apocalypse and Tyranids are all going to get new books before 2016.
In my personal scale for rating unlikely prophecies it scored two Millenium Bugs and one Mayan Apocalypse.

Thanks for sharing!
I'm thinking Mechanicus will be very soon, then it will likely be some sub faction books till later in the year. I'd like a new Tyranids Book, but it does not look likely...
Automatically Appended Next Post: A lot of conflicting information about full codices vs. campaign books only/dataslates with model support. Nafka seems unsure. Lords of Wargaming are still saying new Eldar, Tau and SM full books throughout the summer and fall.
Who knows.

Adepta Sororitas, Deathwatch, Genestealer Cults, Chaos Space Marines
What we are getting apparently:
Space Marines yet again (I forget how manyu SM codexes i Have - too bloody many) - maybe they will get it right this time and make it a Codex of all Space Marines.
Eldar - oh awesome - a Codex that could have been fixed with some FAQs on Cheese Serpents needs a whole new Codex to screw it all up in a new way.
Tau likely Codex: Riptide.

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos
"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

Admittedly, Eldar need a tad more than just tweaking that gosh-darnt Serpent Shield. Internal balance is all over the place, and some units still carry along rules that date back from 2nd edition. Last time I saw Howling Banshees or Dark Reapers on the tabletops I had long hair and grunge was a thing

Make Falcons DTs and give both WS and Falcons Assault Transport option - Cheese Shields is 6" range - 3 or 4 FAQs would have done the job........

Nah, I think you're right. Eldar have problems, but a decent FAQ would patch some for the time being. But given the sorry state of the current Eldar range it's only a matter of time until new models arrive, and updated rules with them.
Given that a new Eldar book in what remains of 2015 is more or less inevitable, I just pray to whatever god watches over the Eldar for these rules to be at least slightly more tame than what we have now, and to insert some diversity into Eldar armies after a long chain of mono-build books. I know I'd better curb my enthusiasm, this being GW and all, but hey, a man can dream.
Also, did I mention Assassins and Deathwatch are also in that rumored schedule? The latter, as part of a DA/AdMech/DW vs Tzeentch campaign that somehow doubles as a Tzeentch Daemonkin book. Owww yea.
What the Ordo Xenos-aligned Deathwatch has to do with Tzeentch frankly escapes me.

Just going to quote another person to bring it into this discussion. I have absolutely no clue about source, truth or anything else, I'm just reposting.

Eldar Week1: Plastic Jetbikes/Shining Spears
Week 2: Clampack Autarch and Codex
Dark Angels Week 1: Tac Squad and Codex
Week 2: Summer Campaign Book Volume 1: Eldar Admech and DA vs Khorne
Tzeentch Week 1: New Daemon Unit
Week 2: Lord of Change
Week 3: Rubric Marines + Campaign Book Volume 2 (DA, Admech, Eldar, Harlequins + Khorne and Tzeentch)(Including a Tzeentch Daemonkin type supplement + rules for the new units.)
Week 4: Campaign Box: Clampack Sorceror and Chaplain
Assassin Boxed Game Plastic Assassins.
Tau Week1: Campaign Box: Tau vs RG (Plastic Commander and Captain)
Week2: Clampack Ethereal and Codex
And every thing is abit vague after that for me. But after that will be more Admech, Horus Heresy, Space Marines inc; Assault Squad, Sisters, Nurgle and Slaanesh stuff.
That is one of the many many many rumours floating around, and I think one of the most wish listy there is.
OP, visit natfka at blogspot, his website is good for rumour mongering.

eldar maybe but I knida like space marines. sides problem with a new SM book is adjust points for nearly anything and suddenly blood angels, space wolves and dark angels are all unhappy and, justly so, want a new 'dex. I think personally GW should avoid new codices for any army unless they're in a position to really need it. most weaker 'dexes would simply benifit from having new options and those, as GW has shown with 'nids, no longer require a new 'dex
Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
It's funny, the rate of updates is almost that of a living ruleset.
Shame each patch costs $50.
Personally, I want a new Imperial Guard codex. This one was such a massive dissapointment, I'd pay $50 to get something which isn't a giant, wet, clawed slap in the face of Guard players everywhere. Give me my fething regiment builder, and my SC back at the very least to represent something other than a Cadian tank company, because that's all that doesn't lose horribly these days. I'd even take a decurion system, just something which gives some kind of fluff and basic effectiveness to something which isn't Leman Russes.
Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

No kidding - Tzeentch is rumored in there!
We all know that GW only ever releases stuff for Khorne & Nurgle anymore, because... "reasons."
Space Marines historically get a release every edition, along with Tyranids. Smart money is on them getting the same treatment again. I would be excited for a new codex. Don't really like the current one to be honest. Just doesn't suit my playstyle. Same with Eldar. Decurion styles for everyone!
Question: Are the tyranids ever going to get a new codex?
Answer:
INSANE army lists still available!!!! Now being written in 8th edition format! I have Index Imperium 1, Index Imperium 2, Index Xenos 2, Codex Orks Codex Tyranids, Codex Blood Angels and Codex Space Marines!
PM me for an INSANE (100K+ points) if you desire.
So wait, my dark angels are on a rumored release schedule????? please oh please let us stop being the red headed stepchild of 40k. Granted i dont play competitively but damn something would be nice.
BUT that could piss me off to no end ruining other things like....black knights

Thats a very interesting and downright exciting release schedule if even mildly true. A Dominatrix. Woah.
