Tactic is simple Fast MSU to get all up in your gak and claim skulls! Lord will do the trick where you spend 7 blood tithe to turn him into a daemon prince which will also give you a bloodthirster due to his axe, then when the daemon prince dies you get a second bloodthirster

Just a thought, if you could juggle some points about and get the lord a bike, he would make the GorePack a horrible thing to face and get up close an personal nice and quickly for those blood pnts

Agreed about the Gorepack - they gain Move Through Cover and you don't need all models in a unit to have this rule to utilize - Juggerlord or Bikelord with Move Through Cover is pretty cool.

Are you sure, you want to have the Land Raider? The Possessed properly wont be targeted anyway when they're behind the rest and on foot you can utilize their Fleet.

The change your lord to a DP & a BT and then get another BT once the DP dies? Yah, RAW it works

1. Take a lord with the axe of ruin.
2. Get 7 Blood tithe points and change to DP.
3. New DP keeps artefacts of slaughter.
4. Lord is removed as casualty which generates new Blood thirster (axe of ruin)
Repeat steps 2 through 4

Well, in all seriousness, I doubt you would have enough games turns to pull this off. I need to reread the rule, but does it not say replace any character?

But, Lord turns into a DP. Creates Blood thirster. DP dies.... creates another bloodthirster.

any character that isn't a daemon of khorne.

7 BPs a turn isn't too difficult, on a good, or indeed a bad turn.

It isn't difficult through out the game, but you need them at the start of turn 3 if you want them to be charging on the 5-6th turn and in then they won't really deal much dmg at that point of the game.

I don't they why the maulerfiends are in the CAD? You have the requirements for a blood Host Detachment. Take them as daemon engine choices in that detachment. Then, the second special rule that detachment gets whereby you can pick a second result on the tithe table equal to or below the first result as long as it isn't above a 4 can affect the maulerfiends too. Useful for the extra attack, or even rage?

You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them

I don't have my codex in front of me atm but I think the second blood tithe reward only affects the slaughtercult, not the whole blood host. I might be wrong though.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

I have literally just got home from work and checked my book. You are right. It is the slaughtercult that benefits and not the blood Host. My mistake.

@Zerg Smasher: Damn! Completely ignored that! That changes a lot.
