This is my fluff for my Dark Angels successor chapter; the Iron Angels.
Chapter Name: Iron Angels
Warcry: For Caliban! For the Lion!, and For the Emperor!
Chapter Master: The Lord of the Angels: Tecarus Zekal
Homeworld: Unnamed: Found By: Explorator Zacharias, 41 012; Designated Planet 10284619
Current Numbers: 993 Space Marines, 43 Dreadnoughts, 12 Land Raiders
Founding: The Battle of Night
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How they were founded: Much like the Death Guard, then the Dusk Warriors, Lion El’ Johnson had a personal retinue of bodyguards, acting in secret, their names listed as KIA. They were the best and the brightest, and they were infallible in their loyalty to their Emperor. When Lion El’ Johnson disappeared, the stalwartly faithful Unforgiven abided by his wishes, and added a few to their ranks after every battle. As years became centuries, the number of the guard swelled, and soon they had a close secret tie to the Adeptus Mechanicus, for it was they who had supplied this legion of Guards with equipment. In 39 914, with their numbers nearing 800, they rallied to join with the Dark Angels once more, their charge missing, their purpose unclear. The Dark Angels refused, unable to come up with a reason why there were suddenly 800 more Space Marines in their ranks. They then demanded to become their own Chapter, and their kindred again said no. Thus, the dissent grew titanic, and on the world of Craycloch IV did they meet in battle. The Dark Angels refused any demand of peace, determined to destroy the Guard, and cover their existence. The Guard despaired, for their numbers were less, vehicles even more so. It was only when the Iron Angels constructed a makeshift castle from tanks, and wreckage that they began to hold their ground. A gifted Librarian named Rezhak quickly used the peace, and sent an astropathic SOS to the Adeptus Mechanicus. For ninety days did they wait, fighting against their brothers, until the Mechanicus came, prepared for war, and deployed hundreds upon hundreds of Skitarii upon the ground, then came the legions of Battle-Automata, and tanks. The Dark Angels could not win, and granted the demands of the Guard, who renamed themselves the Iron Angels in the Mechanicus’ honor. This secret war was for then on called the Battle of Night, and it was hidden very deeply, so deeply in fact, that only Azrael and Belial know of it. A betrayal was solidified, and a Chapter was born.

Ancient Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought
I... actually don't know. Help?
|
43 Dreadnoughts?? 43?? No. Each Battle Company has 1-2 each, so no more than like 15 in a chapter.

You forget they are formed from the most elite in a chapter. One in two Dreadnoughts went into the Guard.

I personally find the part of becoming an ork and assembling a fort odd. Also I believe the dark angels would withdraw and destroy the planet before allowing a chapter they didnt want to exist. Maybe change the fluff to a lesser chapter, not such a well known and connected one.

No did not forget it, And I suggest that you drop involving such major players as the Dark Angels. A all aout confrontattion with any of the original legions would simply result in the utter destruction of your chapter. And the Adeptus mechanicus would not waste a single skitarii or tank on a bunch of rebels. They would rather pick over their smouldering remains

ye but some chapters only have 1 per chapter, and some have really a lot of suits and manage to save many space marines and put them into suits.
