Good evening!

In order to motivate myself to paint more (ie don't let things sit on the shelves too long) I've decided to make a plog to push myself to finish my armies. I'm a fairly slow painter, so if you're expecting really frequent updates, I apologise in advance!

In here, you're most likely going to see a collection of Scions, Skitarii, a Knight and possibly some Grey Knights and/or Sisters and/or other assorted heresy.

To kick it off, here's the taskforce I'm currently working my way through.

(yes, I know the small shelf is rather dusty)

750pts of Scions for a Tinyhammer tournament towards the end of May! Two 5 man squads, a command squad, a Commissar and three Taurox Primes.

Here's a close up of some of the models I've finished already to show the scheme. This will be a consistent theme across at least my Skitarii and Knight as well once I get them, and the basing theme shall be consistent across the entire collection of Imperials. (so I can mix and match and have them look consistent even with differing paint jobs)

(had to reupload the last image, for some reason it linked to some other picture with the link I was given at first)

I'm currently working on completing the second plasma gunner of the squad, then I have the Vox Caster to go before I tackle the first of the Tauroxs.

Wow, some really nice work here

The Scions look great, you've got an awesome colour scheme for them; which paints did you use for the armour?

Also, those bases are sweet, the green looks positively toxic Makes a nice contrast with the reds of the armour, too

Keep up the good work!

Tactical_Spam: Ezra is fighting reality right now.

War Kitten: Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...

War Kitten: Ezra can steal reality

Kharne the Befriender:Took him seven years but he got it wrangled down

Thats a good idea to do lots of small forces helps keep it interesting, the models you have done so far are looking really nice.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I've still got a long way to go with my painting I feel, but having twitchy hands doesn't make it the easiest thing. Haha

The main armour colours (the red and grey) are actually easy and start with the same base.

I do all the plate in Mechcanicus Standard Grey, then layer the red up to Mephiston Red and the grey up to Fenrisian Grey. They then both get two Nuln Oil washes; one heavy for toning. (it's why the greys have a slight blue tinge to them that I like, and the reds have a real dark tone) and then a lighter one for shdaing/touch-ups.

Here's a WIP pic of the second plasma gunner. Managed to get some detailing done but there's a few things I need to touch up still. Then I just need to do the backpack and gun strap.

(sorry for the poor picture quality, being daytime the lighting is very different to the pics I took last night!)

Update! I've been out of commission with distractions, events and work for about the last week, so apologies! Haven't had much time to paint.

Here's the latest plasma gunner, finally finished.

(I get better light saturation without my el cheapo lightbox; dunno why but hey...)

Very much a WIP shot, but I hope this gives you a bit of a rough idea of what I had in mind!

I dig the infantry! They have a dirty, worn look, but the color scheme is very cool and the lenses tying into the toxic waste spills is a really nice look.

Are you going to run these guys as a Ground Assault Formation? I've been using that formation and having a load of fun with it. The only things you're missing is another Taurox and a few more stormies!

That's the plan. I've got the extra box to build the last squad (plus some spare bodies I've turned into grenade launcher carriers) but still need an extra Taurox. I may or may not pick it up after finishing my 750pts first, or just jump into Skitarii money allowing. (or even actually get around to doing my Dark Eldar... but that's heretical)
