Has anyone tried the Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought from FW's experimentals rules? It seems pretty nice.

On paper it looks fantastic. I'm just a little annoyed that it totally outclasses my beloved Contemptor Mortis,

Yeah, though it is a relic, and I am thinking that it would be more worth while to take a mortis contemptor and a relic sacaran, as you can only have one relic.

In 40k yeah good point

In 30k I can't see any reason to take a contemptor mortis over a Deredeo

Seems really good on paper. The pseudo tank hunter S8 autocannons (along with BS5) are twice as effective against AV11-12, and more than three times as effective as AV13 armor. That alone makes it a better value than the Mortis (I'm talking about the regular-chassis dread, not the contemptor version). Add in the AV13, invul save, and the random heavy bolter (which is also a minor threat against AV10-11), and it seems like highly superior unit from a vehicle-killing standpoint.

The missile battery's ability to fire at a different target (and ignore LOS) seems like a really nifty ability. The stats are ideal for marine killing, and there's not a lot the opposing player can do to avoid losing two or three models every turn. I think it's worth the points (especially compared to the contemptor's cyclone missile launcher, which is a questionable upgrade).

Against AV13 or flyer spam, this seems like a good choice. It seems clearly superior to the regular chassis and contemptor mortis dreads. But against AV12, skimmers, or hordes... the Sicaran is still a better choice.

Nah. I think it's uglier than sin. I'm not going to use one.

Knock yourself out, though!

I thought it looked bad at first until I saw it in person. I actually really like the look of it. Also helps that it was painted beautifully.

I make bad decisions and think they are good.

Okay thanks for your input guys. I think I will have to get all three (mortis contemptor, sicarian, and deredeo)
