That seems like a ton of fire power for fantasy. Thank guys I saw all the gun and did not know what to think.

Come to think of it, would these guys match up to the size of a Helbrute? They could have some good conversion potential.

How about oblits?

I am thinking DE Grotesques.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

They are slightly smaller than Hellbrutes but larger than oblits

I mean they DID teleport Skavenblight out of the old world before it went boom in End Times: Archaon...

I for one would love to see lizardmen and skaven in 40K. Although skaven would be difficult to make unique, since a lot of their feel is covered by orks and 'nids already.

What was it about that picture that made you think they're in 40k? The prominent WFB logo at the bottom right? The fact that there's no 40k skaven codex or tab on the GW site? Smh

He said the guns.

And to be fair they are pretty fethin up gunned compared to the older stuff. but that probably has to do with age of some of the models.

That and probably the upscaled armor and nipple lightning dischargers.

Skaven in 40k would be much fun - I love the fact that they are completely without redeeming features - you are never going to have a "nice" Skaven Star Trek style - they hate and fear each other only a little less than everyone else - and for me remain GW's greatest creation.

Clan Skyrie getting hold of 40K tech would be .............interesting ;0

Well skaven did manage to talk to Eldar for a slight bit.

Though the old Hrud before their update was definitely skaven in space.

Nah, I wouldn't take that book as word of God. As 40k fiction goes, anything can be retconned away, and Xenology in particular is written with the "unreliable narrator" cop out in mind.

As a long time lover of Skaven, my first and only WHFB army as I stuck with it through thick and thin for the past 20 years, I absolutely hate these models.

There is nothing Skaven about them. Skaven build things from stuff they found and random planks. If they were to forge anything it would be half decent at best.

These guys look like they were fitted by the smartest minds of the Adeptus Mechanicus, their armour made to fit.

Skaven don't make armour to fit for their creations. They nail a few plates of metal straight onto the skin and if something has to give, it's the flesh.

Let me just say that is a lot of firepower for a fantasy mini.

Skaven have always been all over firepower and big guns. The thing that sets these apart from the normal Skaven aesthethic is not the guns, but their armour. Its colour and look is very odd and not at all like normal Skaven armour.

No, that's just internet misformation getting repeated and distorted over the years as people jumped on a little kernel of information and blew it out of proportion. In this case, that old 3rd ed illustration of various alien races, with the hrud being a heavily cloaked figure with a ratty tail peaking out.

Absolutely, but that's not all.
I don't know if you've seen the rear of the model? It has a little brain-skaven fitted into the armour, like a little driver or something. It's utterly too high tech-looking for skaven.

It is a little driver. The big skaven cannot be depended upon to actually remember things like orders or how the guns work so there's a little skaven piggybacking onto him to do the thinking. I should say I'm not a Skaven player, my friend loaned me the Thanquol book. I remember the first time I saw the backside of these things, I threw up a little in my mouth.

They make me think of the cyborgs from the Command and Conquer series, especially Tiberian Sun and TS: Firestorm... Not sure if that's a good or bad thing yet.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.
