4-5 shields. Leave a single claw Sergeant for a challenge catcher, unless you want your character challenging. In that case even more TH/SS Terminators.

The added attack and initiative lightning claws offer really don't balance out the loss in effectiveness against high toughness targets, vehicles, or 2+ save units, or the large drop in survivability versus AP2 weapons and the loss of ID capacity for that matter. TH/SS is flatly better unless you know you're going up against someone who fields inordinate numbers of guardsmen, gaunts/gargs, boyz, or cultists in enormous blobs and for whatever reason forgot to bring in vehicles, monstrous creatures, multiwound T3-4 models, and what not to the party.

And if they are, you'll really have to ask yourself if you should be spending that many points for winning assaults against dirt cheap horde units when you're likely better served by roasting them off the table.

I'm not trying to be a dick here, but this question is meaningless without context. Better for what?

It's always nice to take down some opponents before they strike.
With SG for example some with sword and some with axe, the swords get to strike first, then any casualties I suffer before the axes swing can be taken from the swordmen. This works as well with LC and TH/SS termi combos. But definitely don't take all LCs, for the reason Kain states. I'd say 2/5 LCs, if taking any at all.

Valid point. I'm assuming he's talking TAC.

If running Baal Strike force Lightening Claw termies are a nice choice due to the initiative bonus, I would consider a TDA Libby with a SS just for absorbing ap2 shots, you could even throw in a couple of TH/SS dudes into the squad and go for a mix and add that extra durability.

Remember to aim LC termies are units with no invuls and preferably no a 2+. S5 rerolling to wound atI5 will make a decent dent in a unit. Should be good vs MCs of various flavours (not riptides though)

Th/SS are more durable, fewer attacks due to no bonus from 2 weapons, so aim that at smaller elite units, stuff with invuls and 2+ , even if you don't kill it they should be able to tie an equally tough/durable opposing unit up for a few turns. Not too shabby vs heavy vehicles (Monoliths, LRs) with S9 on the charge. Run these if you're running an CAD or Arc-angels detachment as they don't benefit from the +1I anyway.

Speaking of Land Raiders you'll almost certainly want a delivery system for them.

So yeah, expect them to be super pointy. They are a fun unit to run occasionally though.
