Subject: TBMC - HD Video Batrep - 1500 Grey Knights vs Harlequins
Hey guys, we have another batrep for you today. On the battlefield for today is Kevin with the Grey Knights and Davis with some Harlequins. We hope you enjoy the battle report and as always if you see any errors please be sure to let us know. Make sure to check out the giveaways going on, see the previous Collective Consultations for more information on them.
Since you asked for errors to be pointed out; here are some.
The Solitaire can't go to ground since he's fearless.
The Shadowseer can't deep strike (or at least I can't find any rules letting him).
Because it was an Unbound army, the Masque detachment would not get their command benefits and thus would not be able to run and charge.
The Dreadknight is a character, so the Harlequin player could have got his objective when he killed it with his Solitaire.
I enjoyed the batrep, though, but I wish you'd zoom out a bit to make it easier for the viewer to get a better overview of what's going on. At least a general overview of the table after turns would be great.

1. The Solitaire didn't go to ground, but the Death Jester from the Heroes Path formation did.
2. You're absolutely correct about the command benefits. We played it this way because it's more fun. Also, the Wraithknight is about to get a formation of 1 Wraithknight in the new codex (and it'll be even stronger), so it's not like it's that different from what's coming anyways.
3. We questioned this during the game, but were off-handedly told that one-on-one combat as it is can't have challenges. Just checking the rulebook now, I don't see that rule, so you're right! I could've gotten another point, but it didn't matter.
Thanks for pointing these out though!

The 1 Wraithknight Formation is NOT an independent Formation, meaning you need to have the Core Detachment from the Eldar Codex to unlock it.

The 1 Wraithknight Formation is NOT an independent Formation, meaning you need to have the Core Detachment from the Eldar Codex to unlock it. It takes at least 400 pts (if you want your troops to be naked in battle) to get that Wraithknight, or you can play Combined Arms and use Lord of War as normal.
Just saying, I don't think it's fun at all playing Unbound and then getting the benefits of Detachments. Otherwise, I can play a 1000 points Grey Knights and have 5 Dreadknights with Shred because they are an Appocalypse Formation. Deviation from the rules by one player needs to be balanced out by another player doing the same.
