I would use them as an objective marker for sure.
I found a "Dead Goblin" miniature that would look good for the Orks. It would be a Grot but maybe it stole some dakka.

I have enough trouble painting what I have now. While it would be awesome to have both a live/dead version of everyone, it’s totally impractical. If they were cheep enough, I’d grab some for objective markers.

No, because while they might look fun, it's just clutter to get in the way on the battlefield, and on a 1-1 basis, way too much extra stuff to paint.
