is the most pathetic showing of a Primarch ever, losing to a regular human assassin...yes M'shen is like the best assassin in the Callidus Temple...but still..

Primarchs are still mortal, with a few notable exceptions. They will die if they get shot or stabbed in the right place. That highly trained assassin hit him in the right place. Like assassins are trained to do.

Why must I always choose beween certain death and probable death.

Curze allowed M'Shen to kill him to prove a point.

To be fair, they tried killing Horus with assassins too. It would have worked if it wasn't for the plot armour that Horus has before he gets above Terra.

Exactly. Curse would never have lost to M'shen if he hadn't wanted to.

Lord of the Night has plenty of flashback scenes that detail the encounter. Curze just sits still while M'Shen cuts his head off, with the Night Lords sworn to stand by and do nothing but watch.

What he said. He had forseen his own death and he willingly submitted to it to prove a point to his legion. The only way it could have been easier for M'Shen is if Curze had cut his own head off and mailed it ImpEx express in a Flat Rate box.

And besides, First Claw, all whopping 4 of them, track down a callidus assassin and capture her. Alive. And then torture her so severely she breaks. This is a creature that deals with pain like its a morning bowl of fruitloops, and they tortured her to the point she betrayed her temple rather than take another minute of their blades.

Kurze let M'Shen kill him. There were no fight between the two.

Assassins aren't normal human. They are so intensly modificated they even surpass Space Marines in several area when it comes to physical capacity. With those kind of abilities they can kill pretty much anybody in the galaxy except Primarchs (and even then several of them might pull the trick). Heart of Darkness reveals the thing about Kurze and features a combat against a Callidus vs First Claw. Of course, the assassins trick them to attack an empty temple where the only thing left is a video pick of Kurze dying. They probably put it there to mock the Night Lords, but it produce the opposite effect and serves a bit like an epiphany for them.

Yeah, he probably wouldn't have just lopped off her head with one swing, but M'shen would not have lived to tell the tale. Curze also let her waltz in to meet him, so she may never have gotten as far as to even see Curze. M'Shen was an incredible assassin and would've done some hurt, but probably would not have won the fight

"Your presence does not surprise me, Assassin. I have known of you ever since your craft entered the Eastern Fringes. Why did I not have you killed? Because your mission and the act you are about to commit proves the truth of all I have ever said or done. I merely punished those who had wronged, just as your false Emperor now seeks to punish me. Death is nothing compared to vindication."
