Guys, come on.. read the OP.

The -1 is blanet for all D-weapons (blast & templates) but doesn't apply when targetting super heavies or G-creatures.

Also this stacks with the inbuilt -1 already existing on D-scythes.

D-scythes wounding on 4's, doing D3 wounds, AP2, Str 10 and ignoring cover, automatically hitting and getting multiple hits = Good/Reasonable. Also gives balance between Single shot/Blast and Template weapons.

I read the OP. Didn't realize you were referencing it - yet even with the additional -1 I say they're too powerful. Again - Wraithguard. Let's even forget the Scythes and pick up stock cannons, and assume the -2 to D strength ON THEM (even though it wasn't suggested). 5 shoot, 3 hit, 1.5*d3 (averaging to a 2) = 3HP, and tank is dead. Regardless of AV. Any MC is three wounds down. The closest comparison of weapon able to compare would be (imo) the grav-gun. 5 shots, 3 hit, .5 results of a 6 against a vehicle for .5HP/immobalize results. Versus the standard MC profile (T6 3+sv) they inflict two wounds.

Five plasma shots vary depending on vehicle armor. Against AV10 no jink - 3 hits, 2HP stripped with decent odds at one being a pen (the D weapons auto-penned 1.5 times). They also do two wounds to MCs.

D weapons are far too undercosted and available for Eldar. Even an additional blanket -1 does not fix the issue.

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

Fire dragons, pretty sure 5 melta shots should glance a vehicle to death?

And its escalation - D-weapons are meant to be powerful.

A simple -1 (-2 for those templates/lines) helps address that in a few serious ways.

Five fire dragons are comparatively effective against vehicles, and less-so against MCs. Their effectiveness is also relative to vehicle AV (D weapons aren't) and require closer range than Wraithcannons, Vaul's Wrath, Heavy Wraithcannons, or Hemlocks. And it's not escalation, that's the problem. It's stock in the book. Ranged D is in escalation for everyone else.

Haywire Blasters don't care about AV either. That isn't unique to D
