Hi Dakka, I am looking at all of the new lists for Eldar and people seem to think that D-scythe guard, spamming ranged D, and multiple wraithknights are the way to go. I think they are wrong, and I think a balanced approach is better for a TAC list with the meta shifts that it brings. I was thinking: Eldar 1850: Guardian Battlehost: Farseer Skyrunner- 115 20x Guardians, 2x Bright Lances- 180 10x Guardians, Scatter Laser- 90 Serpent- 110 10x Guardians, Scatter Laser- 90 Serpent- 110 3x Vaul Support- Vibro Cannons- 90 3x Vipers, 2x Shuriken Cannons each- 150 3x Warwalkers, 2x Scatter Lasers each- 180 Crimson Death: Exarch, 2x Starcannons- 160 Hunter- 140 Hunter- 140 Wraith Construct: Wraithknight- 295 This list has a ton of small arms fire, plenty of anti air, as well as plenty of armor. I am considering dropping something or shifting some points around for an ADL with a comms relay to help with the crimson death formation. The farseer is going to roll on telepathy and hope for shrouding (Great for giving troops cover) and ofc invis for the wraithknight. He also provides some pretty scary psychic defense with those DTW rerolls. The Guardian host is really awesome because I am giving all of these small support teams PE, making them pack quite a punch. Farseer hides either in Vaul batteries, or more likely, the squad of 20 guardians. Any ideas on where to cut the 70 points for the ADL? I am pretty confident I can beat pretty much any list with this, including wraithknight spam, scatterbike spam, Decurion, pentyrant, and AdLance. Or at least I would have a good chance, all without spamming the things people say are ridiculous about the book. I also really like the idea that against some lists, say against something with an irredeemable alpha strike like drop pods, white scars, or the new scatterbike spam and I dont get to go first, I can reserve all the key components of the list. I.e. deepstrike wraithknight, bring vipers on my table edge. outflank warwalkers, or maybe even the serpents if the opponent will have problems removing the 6 t7 artillery wounds with a 2+ cover save as well as the big guardian blob.

I suppose that is correct. Either way, still has some benefit.

Why on earth did you give your farseer a bike? He/ she has no one to join.

Hello there! First off good on you for taking a well-rounded approach rather than the more blunt and abused one.
My first suggestion would be to nix the Jetbike on the Farseer. It's a hugely powerful tool, but based on how you just described its' use I wouldn't bother - 15 points of upgrades can be found for someone (say, Scatter Laser on a Wraithknight). Next up I'd comment on the Vauls'. Fantastic weapons they are, however the Vibro cannon would be my third pick of the three. Depending on your needs, both the Monofilament and the D are supremely good choices - the one that wins out will depend on what you expect to encounter in your matches.
I'm not crazy about adding or upgrading Vypers. Certainly to follow your formation you require one, but the need ends there. I've seen Vypers do nothing but disappoint those who use them, they're less durable than Warwalkers and less point efficient than Bikes.
I love seeing the Crimson Death and I think a Wraithknight is a solid choice, although you've left out what armament he's wielding. Cheers.

By the way this list is going to struggle yet will maybe sort of work. But the games are going awful. And you will have to use the clock to win. Which is lame. Very.
And anyway, against a load of ork bikers and ork boys in trukks this will actually struggle. They will assault you in turn 2 with enough to wipe you by turn 5.
You will lose both wave serpents by turn 2 (unless by some miracle their only anti armour in close combat based.) Since there is litterally nothing for their las canons to do other than hammer them. You will lose 10-15 elves a turn every go, if you are lucky. Then the actually only good unit comes on: the fliers. So they will do whatever they like pretty much and your land elves will die in spades while you hang on with cover saves and try to out last them. Which you can actually do.
If everything goes to plan, By turn 5 they will have 3 or 4 things left in poor shape and you will have 3 or 4 things left in poor shape plus 2 or so fliers. Every game will go like this. Good luck.
Plus you lack and avatar which will cost you AT LEAST 2 units to routing in a game. You need an avatar BIG time. Also you "slag off" wraith spam as cheese then take a wraithknight ... which is hypocritical
