Hey mates. was watching a game today between Space Marines and Imperial Guard, when a huge argument erupted in over the fact that the Space Marine player assaulted the IG Command Squad out of a regular landraider with the lascannons. According to the guard player, he claimed that the regular landraider you cannot Assault out of it, as it just says it is profile it is an assault vehicle but it has no assault ramp. Can you please clarify this and sorry for such a noob question, it has been a while since I've seen or looked at the Land Raider rules.

If you want to assault out of the side hatches you can. It's a LR, and an assault vehicle. The ramp up front is just another access point. There might be wacky FW ones with odd rules, but the basic LR, the LRR, and the LRC all work the same.

Tell them both to reread the rules for Assault Vehicles.

If it has the Assault Vehicle rule, you can disembark and assault in the same turn. No matter how it got the rule.

Passengers disembarking from Access Points on a vehicle with this special rule can charge on the turn they do so (even in a turn that the vehicle was destroyed, or in the following turn) unless the vehicle arrived from Reserve that turn.
I hate when people argue over the simple rules instead of just reading what the rule says

Lol welcome to what happens when noob players play each other. Thanks for clarifying that, I haven't looked at the Space Marines in a long time and even then I ran a Drop Pod list so I know nothing about the Land Raider lol.

The basic Landraider is basically the same model as the Crusader and Redeemer, and has exactly the same door / ramp on the front? Unless the SM player was using a really old Landraider (from 1st/2nd Edition), it still has a ramp. But as others have pointed out, it doesn't matter, the vehicle still has the Assault Vehicle rule.

I miss the old romboid Mk1's. They had character.

I think the IG player got the land raider confused with a battlewagon as the battlewagon can be equipped with an assault ramp(which gives you +3 inches to your charge the turn you disembark).

Old land raider rules(prior to assault vehicle rule) had an "assault ramp" that allowed assaulting after disembarking after moving. First it was only disembarking fron the front, then it was any access point, then it became simply assault vehicle.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.
