Here's a list I've been playing around with and have couple of games coming up this week in our group. Not a tourney, but competitive (think Dual CentStars, bikes with Grav-guns, Smurfs with 9 drop pods, etc). The list can't change between games so here it goes:

CAD

130 Farseer \ Jetbike, Spirit Stone of Anath'lan

185 Windriders x 5 \ Scatterlasers x 5, Warlock

135 Windriders x 5 \ Scatterlasers x 5

320 Wraithguard x 5 \ D-Scythes x 5 - Wave Serpent (No upgrades)

180 War Walkers x 3 \ Scatterlasers x 6

295 Wraithknight

Aspect Host

162 Warp Spiders x 8 \ Exarch

162 Warp Spiders x 8 \ Exarch

180 Dark Reapers x 5 \ Exarch, StarShot Missles x 5

1749 Total

Figured the Farseer would join the Windriders with the Warlock so as to benefit from the improved cover save if he needs it. I had even played with the idea of running a unit of four(with Warlock) and two units of three for more obsec units?

Anyway I could drop the War Walkers for a Crimson Hunter Exarch to counter flyers\FMCs. Just not sure about trading 24\S6 shots for 4\S8 shots. There aren't a lot of flyers in our meta, but it's possible I may be matched against one. If I did this it would leave me 20 more points to play around with, maybe another Warp Spider, or Wave Serpent upgrades?

Any suggestions?

With the Dark Reapers and the mass of str 6 shots you don't really need a crimson hunter. It's a nasty list, the warp spiders can deep strike and be a nuisance. You do need to watch out for grav weaponry, as it's probably one of the best counters to a Wraithknight.

Looks like a mean list, but did you pay the points for the warlock? You have the two scatterbike squads that both cost 185 except one has a warlock. Just wanted to clear that up.

Hey, thanks. Just a typo. The Windrider squad without a Warlock is 135. I've got it fixed.

Another opponent that I may run into likes to run a drop pod saturation list. \ Smurfs - Calgar, 65+ Marines, 9 Drop Pods

Any thoughts?

Might want to drop a bike somewhere to make room for an extra weapon on your WK, that way you can D weapon one thing and charge the Space Marines in assault phase.

If you drop 1 bike and get one scatter laser on the knight and one on the serpent. So you lose 1 scatter laser, but gain 2 scatter lasers and the ability for the knight to split fire on what he is assaulting. Bonus if you are guiding/prescience on the knight anyway.

Well, what about dropping a Warp Spider and running something like this:

CAD

130 Farseer \ Jetbike, Spirit Stone of Anath'lan

185 Windriders x 5 \ Scatterlasers x 5, Warlock

135 Windriders x 5 \ Scatterlasers x 5

325 Wraithguard x 5 \ D-Scythes x 5 - Wave Serpent - TL Brightlance

180 War Walkers x 3 \ Scatterlasers x 6

310 Wraithknight \ Scatterlaser x 1

Aspect Host

162 Warp Spiders x 8 \ Exarch

143 Warp Spiders x 7 \ Exarch

180 Dark Reapers x 5 \ Exarch, StarShot Missles x 5

Dropping a Warp Spider is probably better than a bike, and the list looks good.

Thanks.

What do you think about splitting up the two Bike Squadrons into three? A unit of four with a Warlock and two units of three. This would give me one more obsec unit while still giving the Farseer some protection, but would cut down on the overall firepower if any of the units are guided, and make it easier to break (one casualty instead of two). However I just had a thought. A unit of three can never be reduced below 25% without being destroyed (on that note neither can a unit of four). So they can always rally at leadership rather than snake eyes even without an IC. Hopefully preventing them running off the board. I don't know.

Any advice is appreciated?

That's a tough one, and I think it's kinda situational. Haven't really seen a clear answer to which is better.

I've been running mine in squads of 3 so far. The advantage is if you have to Jink, then you only have to do Snap Shots with 3 windriders rather than 5. If anything is firing at you that is large blast, template, high volume of fire, or anything with AP3 and Ignore Cover, then they can only kill 3 warlocks not 5. You also have potentially more ObSec units at the end of the game to capture objectives.

The downside is doing a Leadership 8 test every time a windrider dies, and if you want to Guide/Priescence your windriders than you can do max 3 at a time.

Why do you have the warlock btw?

The Warlock's default power is conceal/reveal which grants shrouding. So if the Farseer is attached to that unit and uses the Spirit Stone and loses his invulnerable save; I can potentially get a 2+ cover save if I jink and conceal gets cast.

That sounds pretty good.

If you wanted to go even more competitive you could drop the warwalkers for more scatbikes, but this would not be a good way to make friends.

I would play the list as you have it now for a couple of games, then you can do some tweaks later when you have a feel of what your armies strong and weak points are in the meta you play.
