If I'm going to use 1 unit of Wraithblades and 2 units of 5 Wraithguard, should I run them with all D-Scythes or keep one of them Wraithcannons? Also, if I use two Wave Serpents, should I use one on the blades and one on the D-Scythe unit? Thanks! This is for a small CAD of HQ and two 3 man units of wind riders and a wraithhost formation.

If you have the points, there is no reason no to go with D-scythes. Sure you miss the chance to "6" kill a model, but flamers auto-hit, ignore cover, murder stuff on overwatch, and are also good vs. hordes.

Put both D-scythe guard in the Serpents, put your Spirit seer & Jetbike Farseer (cuz you will be fielding a Jetbike Farseer) in the unit of Wraithblades for protection. This unit can screen your Wriathlord.

No because:

1. It is very cheap upgrade
2. It gives him T4 which drastically reduces what can instant death him
3. It reduces your charges ranges by ~ 3" because he can scoot out infront of the unit and as long as he is in coherency he can move more than 6" (effectively reducing distances required for charges).
4. It gives him a better gun
5. It is a very cheap upgrade

Only disadvantage is if people try and tell you that you can't have half the unit run while the farseer himself turbo boosts to keep up.

D-Scythes are better, especially since they work as anti horde and you don't have 'that' many scatter lasers on the table. Also, the D-Scythes works as extremely good assault deterrents.

That said, the spiritseer gives reroll to hit on anything within 18", so that basicly makes your wraithguard twin linked. This increases the chance of a 6 on the D table, and the whole unit can score 1.5 hits on a flyer if you are desperate. From there it's about 16% for nothing to happen, 45% chance to wound him, and a 40% chance of instakilling him.
