I take a longer look at the overall % of success of certain builds and lists, in terms of curiosity. Ad lance and Knight primaries in general win about 65%+ of their games, which is dramatically higher than any other primary selection. Important to know it's rarely - at least from a TO perspective - about what's winning events; it's far more about what's beating people across the span of the tournament, and how reliably. Whatever anyone says about how balanced or not 40K is, most primary faction choices fall in the 45-55% win rate area ... the exceptions are the bigger problems.
Thanks for looking at it from the "average" gamer perspective. I'm tired of faux witty slogans in bios about what is or isn't legal as well as those who post that you're either a scrub or WAAC gamer if you don't agree with their N=1 sample size of losing or beating a controversial model/unit/army. The best players will tend to win regardless of units they choose to hamstring themselves with and the worst players will lose regardless of what easy button netlist they find online. The take home point is that the majority of players (duh!) fit in between those and don't fall in either of the derogatory terms commonly thrown around. If something is giving an unfair advantage within that population, it's your job to investigate it further and I applaud you for doing it. Is your software detailed enough to analyze individual units (like wraith-D's) or do you have to check that all by hand?
I've seen folks posting that 40k is a sandbox now but it feels more like a litterbox. It's up to TOs like yourself to scoop out whatever stinky bits Kirby the Cat leaves there in order to keep the whole house from smelling if you want people to keep coming over.

The tragedy is I can only exalt this once.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did. |

I just went back to 4th and most people exclusively play 4th again. We do have a 7th tournament, but only once every few months and I'm just co-hosting it. Everyone owns the original 4th codices, but most people have "digital" 7th codices / BRBs. We're not paying GW for their terrible work.

It's a good thing that 7th is a "shared experience"

Thanks. It really is how I feel about 40k as it is right now. Obviously, it's just an opinion although judging from year on year sales I can't be the only one who feels that way. There have been some improvements during 6th and 7th but the changes in the scope and scale of the "normal" 40k game are just not for me.

I'm right there with ya mang, I feel like apoc should have remained apoc and 40k should have remained 40k. Bringing all the logistical pains of apoc to 40k has only reduced the overall experience while making it a bloated, lengthy and increasingly political affair. You said it well though, it really isn't a sandbox, it's a litterbox.

Yeah, I have zero problem with apoc and owned two baneblades and a converted tau emperor titan for games of it (as well as the unbound before it was cool IC dream team in a drop pod)... but I don't feel it belongs in EVERY game as is the current sales at the expense of everything else ruleset. I'm glad that TOs are taking the time to consider changing the rules to something more sane although I fully admit they likely won't ever get it racheted back to where I want it except for the rare "classic" formats at adepticon and such.
