Thinking of getting rid of my toys, in separate bundles. What can I reasonably ask for them? All the minis are in good shape and mostly all painted to a decent table standard.
I have about 40 Marines of varying flavors, tacs, asm, termies, a Rhino, a pred, a stormtalon, 2 landspeeders, and an LSS with scouts in one bundle.
Bundle two is Island of Blood with all the fixings, assembled and mostly painted, plus about 20 dwarfs, a dozen oop metal dark elves, and an old metal bolt thrower.
What seems like a good price for these two bundles? I want to sell them but only if I think I can get a good price. How should I price this stuff out?

Are the miniature cleaned of mold lines? if not, the price will be lower. Are the minis well put together?(if you glue the hatches shut on vehicles or canopies for example, movable parts that are glued on...) examples of decent paint job. If they are not up to standard or not in the scheme of what the buyer want, they will be turned away. As they would have to strip the minis, cleaned mold lines, pretty much do more work than bought NIB.
NIB go for average of 20% off retail, only way you make your money back is if the minis are very well painted or OOP ones for collectors.

NIB: 70-80% of retail. You can usually get a 10-20% discount if you buy from a store, so you have to undercut their prices by at least a bit if you want to sell anything.
Assembled/painted to an average standard: 0-50% of retail. Exactly how much depends on the buyer, but remember that you're selling garbage and hoping that someone is willing to pay money for it. Your painting and assembly work significantly devalue the product and create extra work for the person who has to strip and disassemble them.
Assembled/painted to contest-winning standard: 100% of retail, up to hundreds of dollars per model. However, you almost certainly do not paint to this standard.
OOP stuff obviously breaks this trend, and the retail price it used to sell for usually has nothing to do with how much it is worth. OOP prices vary heavily depending on the thing, and the only way to know how much it's worth is to check recent sales of the same item.

Hey buddy just asking for some tips on selling my gak. Keep your condescending "you do not paint good enough" bs to yourself. Its guys like you who make me not want to play this game.
Can I get a mod to lock this for me before this turns into another debate.

He could have been a little more delicate with that, but he is correct. Unless your stuff is painted to a supremely high level any paint on the model will actually devalue it well below the 70-80% you might get if it was NiB.
So if its painted, you're probably looking at 50-60% of retail.

He was just trying to point out that few people can paint to that standard, Im wicked proud of my paint work but I openly admit, compared to Blue Table Painting or other companies my Work is garbage.
If you would like, I will take a look at your minis ( 40k only) and I can give you a rough estimate of the value. I spent a bit of time buying and selling miniatures trying to acquire my Ork army. And I was selling all my Space marines to do that. Just chuck me a PM and I will gladly Help. :-) Automatically Appended Next Post: also, theirs a couple tips and tricks I can tell you/teach you about to increase the value.

Congratulations on missing the point there. I have no idea what your models look like, nor am I making any comment on whether or not they're "good enough" in general. The simple fact is that most used models lose value if they're painted, even if they look nice on the table and you're very proud of your work. People want their stuff painted to match their army, not yours, and odds are your models are going straight into the bucket of paint stripper once they arrive. And most people who can paint at the level where their painting becomes a positive quality in setting a sale price are already doing commission work and know how much they can sell for. So if you're asking random people on a forum how much used models sell for it's a safe bet that you're not a professional painter and your models are worth less than NIB because you painted them.

Forgot to mention that the material the miniature made of matters too, metal ones retain their original MSRP value or more. For example: GW discontinued their metal DE incubi and made them with crap cast, so there are now more people looking for the metal ones.
I would highly recommend you sell them in individual units and not bundles as they tend to lose value. Only group them if you know 1 unit will not likely to sell on their own.
A good bundle of clear pictures goes a long way when selling/trading.

@Peregrine -- you can see darkcloak's stuff if you click on his gallery. I think they're neat, but have a low resale value, for two reasons: 1. They don't follow a codex color scheme. Unless the paintjob is super duper spectacular, people prefer something that conforms to a standard (hopefully popular) chapter. Ultramarines, White Scars, Imperial Fists, Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Dark Angels -- you get the idea. If it's super duper awesome, someone will buy it just because, and stick it in a display case, or use some of them as HQs or an elite unit. It's ok if a unit looks different because it's significantly better than the rest of y our army. 2. They are tabletop/ FLGS "Nice! Good job bro", but not "Holy crap, you did THAT?" good. The difference between the two is that the former people are happy to play with and it's an army you should be proud of; the latter is something that someone will offer you a premium on. As Peregrine said, from full MSRP to many hundreds per model. I would say that if you could get 30%+ of MSRP, take the money and run. The truth is, most hobbyists will prefer all the bits and such that come with a new kit; most gamers won't have a color scheme that will to integrate with your army colors; and it's wonderful fun to say, strip 'em and repaint them... but that's a bunch of work (especially the vehicles...), and people will want a discount for that. Or just keep 'em! Sorry if that sounds harsh. Just trying to be realistic Also, I assume this is an example of some stuff you're selling and reasonably representative of your work (I didn't click on all of your 155 pictures ):

Ok, looking at a couple gallery examples I stand by what I said: they're tabletop standard and I'd have no problem playing against them, but the painting isn't worth anything.
