The idea of a single, immortal figure directing mankind from the shadows through the ages is hardly unique to the Emperor of Mankind from Warhammer 40K. This character also made his first appearance in 1943, long before the idea of 40K was even a gleam in anyone's eye.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

The God-Emperor, as a title, is almost certainly lifted from Frank Herbert's Dune series. That's even the name of one of the books (God-Emperor of Dune).

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

The entiery of 40k is constructed out of tropes for Sci-Fi. The God- Emperor is from Herbert's dune, Space marines are form Heinlein's Starship Troopers, tyranids are based on Alien Zeno Morphs, Elves, and orks are based on WFB races which are in turn based on Tolkien counter parts. But this could be true of any Sci-Fi. For instance Starwars is a classic retelling of the hero's journey (4-6) or the Tragic Fall (1-3) archetypes from folk lore and mythology. Everything is reused
