Thought I would throw this up here. I read thru some forums for new space marine rumors that orbital strike would be becoming str D. I shrugged it off at the time, but then forgeworld released this models rules, which give it more credit than I originally gave it.

May not be good from a gaMe design perspective, but iit makes fluffy sense. If a titan can make a D size bang, an orbiting warship should be able to.

I don't think each individual rule deserves its own thread but in any case you're apparently incorrect regardless. The Fw HH orbital strike is str D but the 40k GW one for the new marine command vehicles is str 10 massive blast ord 1 yadda yadda.

My Master of Signals in HH still fires a S10 AP1 blast like the 40k orbital strikes.
I think the profile in question shoots a 7" Str. D orbital strike because it's a lord of war choice. For example the fact on top of this, it's Orbital strike can fire every turn, instead of once per game. You have to be playing atleast a 3400 point game of HH before you can take one in your army.

When boiled down it's a rumor that orbital strikes will be Str. D in the next SM codex. The stuff about the storm bird is kinda off topic. Because it's FW's HH rules, witch aren't here nor there when it comes to what GW is doing.
But after the last Eldar book, I wouldn't be surprised if they did it.
