Hey everyone, I've posted a few threads but just wanted to make an official introduction. I used to play 40k a few years back in early 5th edition as an Ork main, but ended up getting real busy and didn't have a steady income to support the hobby, so I took a break for a few years. Luckily I just got a really nice job that pays very well, so now I can afford to get back into 40k! After looking at all the 7th edition armies I initially liked Chaos mainly for the look/lore, but after more research I found them to be a little sub-par, so then I decided on Tyranids, as they seem to be a good mid-tier army, and I love the lore and the look of them, only a little less than Chaos, so I'll probably do Chaos as a fun second army after I finish my Tyranid army. I also got 2 of my friends into 40k, one is playing Necrons and the other is playing Eldar (even though we are limiting him with no Wraithknight in games less than 2000 points). I also have a great local gaming store that has casual game nights twice a week, so my plan is to assemble and paint my models over the summer, and then start running games in the Fall. I've posted my list and gotten great feedback, so I'm looking at really getting into threads about Tyranid tactics and how to use them in certain match-ups. I really enjoy this board and this really seems like a great community!

I have a friend who plays nids. They are REALLY fething cool. They have many monstrous creatures, which, in 5th edition (which I play), you got no armour saves against (but you still got Feel No Pain saves if you had them).

What kind of Tyranids do you have? My friend has Genestealers, Termagants, a Broodlord, 2 carnifexes, a Trygon, 5 warriors, and the only HQ unit, a Tyranid Prime.

I, however, play Blood angels. They are really good against Nids.

Well I got Battle for Macragge years ago so I have 5 spore mines, 6 Genestealers, and 10 Termagants. I also got the Tyranid Swarm box, so I've got a lot of Termagants, Hormagants, a Carnifex who I've built as a Dakkafex, and some Gargoyles I don't plan on using. I also got the Wrath of the Hive Mind to make a Tervigon, more Termagants, 3 Warriors, and a Flyrant.

Here's my current list for any feedback:
