So ive been swapping out armies back and forth for the last 3 years so so trying to find what i want to play.
Ive played 1000 sons, Tyranids, Dark Angels, Salamanders, Ultra Marines, Iron Hands, Khorne Demons, Eldar, Imperial Guard, Grey Knights, and Tau....
Believe it or not i have FINALLY settled on an army that i would like to keep and put forth some real effort into making look as nice as possible
To do this i believe i will need to purchase something i dont already own

1. Something to strip paint from plastic/metal without damaging it
2. Good Brushes
3. A good airbrush and compressor (reasonably priced)
4. good paint brand

I currently own an old set of citadel brushes but they desperately need to be replaced. I also use citadel and reaper miniature paints but ive seen better results (imo) with vallejo paints and army painter paints as well so id like a second opinion on these. The army that im painting is not huge. Looking to paint

The Sanguinor
Sanguinary Priest
Librarian with Jump Pack
2 Death Company Dreadnoughts
2 Furioso Dreadnoughts
20 Death Company with Jump Packs
20 Terminators
20 Tactical Marines
20 Assault Marines
4 Rhinos
2 Landraiders
2 Stormravens
2 Drop pods

Any advice or videos on how to airbrush and detail these models would also be very welcome. Once i have everything in hand i plan on starting a blog with my progress until completion of my army. I plan on painting them as codex blood angels and im really hoping they come out well! Looking forward to some great advice.

Here's my suggestions based on your questions:

1. Something to strip paint from plastic/metal without damaging it - Simple Green will do the job nicely. Strips paint without damaging the model. An ultrasonic jewelry cleaner also works great in conjunction with the Simple Green. The simple green runs about 10.00 per gallon and the US cleaner will run about 35.00 if you shop around.

2. Good Brushes - Winsor and Newton Series 7 is the way to go. I get them from Amazon for about 50% less than normal retail. That being said, 4 brushes ranging from Size 2 to size 000 (10/0) cost me about 60.00 a couple of weeks ago.

3. A good airbrush and compressor (reasonably priced) - Again, Amazon is your best friend on this one. I just recently picked up an Airbrush kit that included a decent air compressor and 3 different brushes for less than 100.00.

4. good paint brand - Vallejo Game Color and Vallejo Game Air would be my first choices, particularly if you are going to use an Airbrush. I would follow that with Army Painter, but they do not have an Air Color line, so you would have to thin your own paints for use though the airbrush. My personal collection is 93% Vallejo, 4% Army Painter and 3% everything else.

Hit up YouTube for videos on how to airbrush and then practice with cheap paints and paper until you have the control down.

I say go with a decent compressor (something like 3 Liters, tank, adjustable PSi and water trap). They are not overly expensive, could be that your kit covers that.

This advice is partly from buypainted.com: Go with a cheap grav fed, dual action airbrush in the range of around 0.2 to 0.3 mm. Should be in the USD 20.00 range. Make sure you are able to get spare parts. Because:

1. You are new to airbrushing you might mess something up, better be able to get cheap replacement parts and not waste hundreds of dollars.
2. Cheap or awesome expensive airbrush does not make a difference in the beginning.

I am airbrushing for a year now with a cheap airbrush, my kit was about USD 100 too including compressor. Messed up a nozzle in the first week but was able to replace the broken part for change. Biggest improvement for my painting ever. Still happy with the cheap airbrush. Do it!

Look for Next Level Painting and Buypainted on Youtube for awesome airbrush tutorials.

1. Something to strip paint from plastic/metal without damaging it: Purple Power: pretty cheap. avalible at most auto stores. wont hurt models.
2. Good Brushes: You can waste money on cheaper brushes but generally sable works very well. Wisor neutons series 7s around size 0 is nice to work with. also masters brush soap (keep your brush clean )
3. A good airbrush and compressor (reasonably priced): Badger renegade chromes are about 75-100 ish on amazon. harbor freight has a little AB compressor with a water trap for like 80. its the set up i use. but i do get some moisture issues on occasion.
4. good paint brand: Personal preference is vallejo. just for the stability of the company. available on amazon.

Any advice or videos on how to airbrush and detail these models would also be very welcome. Once i have everything in hand i plan on starting a blog with my progress until completion of my army. There are all sorts of videos on youtube.
Stop by a GW and get your hands on your "FREE" Marine so you can practice on it. or use a spare metal one that you can speed strip if you really wanna practice (metal so you can stip it in acetone which takes like no time)
Dont forget to prime. Blacks give you deeper red. while priming white gives you a brighter red.

(harder for me to suggest red as i haven't painted red)
