My group played a lot of different systems back in the day, Vor, Warzone, Chronopia, etc. In our opinions, they all had killer rules and we played some of our most fun games with them. I was just thinking that with a little points and weapon effects jiggling, 40K armies would work well in those systems.
Any old timers here ever give it a go?

Just twice.

Converted stuff across to Stargrunt II and also to Tomorrow's War.

Space marines play like space marines are supposed to that way.

Both are a "feels right" rather than a x/3+y/6xnumber of hours in a long weekend/tuesdays in a month sort of thing, though.

I've been playing various games for the last 28 or so years, though and a "close enough" works for me.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I love messing about with rules systems and porting stuff over - vaguely working up rules at the moment for 40k stuff in Judge Dredd....

I AM A MARINE PLAYER

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

Ah, yes. The 2000 AD roots for 40k.
