I've been on my Cult Mech/Skitarii spree for the last few months and I'm happy with them for now, so I saw the Dark Angel upgrade set and I thought that I would restart my Dark Angels and with style! I need some help in thinking up of an awesome army list, that is at least semi competitive. My only problem is that I don't want a mono Ravenwing or Deathwing list though, as I find that boring. I may be a bit of a idiot with my DA so forgive anything stupid I may say. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Hey,
you could always focus on greenwing. Take any HQ (preferably chappy or libby as company masters are ugh:( ). And mech up with razorbacks for small MSU hunting.
For Example

This gives you quite a lot of threat priorities for your opponent to deal with while giving a lot of punching power. Right now I feel like RW bikes are too expensive at 27 points a pop but hopefully that changes in the new codex that is rumoured.
I just threw this together but I like my sternguard and vets, and it was pointed out to me a while back that the command squad can take more guns for an extra 10 points for the squad. Just something to go of off if you want something different

I may not have that many Razorbacks, but I really like the look of a list like this! Automatically Appended Next Post: Should I use the DW Termies, or should I use the DW Knights? They both have ups and downs about them, but if I wanted a strong assault unit at these points, I could fit in Knights.

Here's the list I use for big match games, I think it's pretty cool it's designed to be modular and while it does have forge world in it. It's only two piece and you can make one with a big ol energy cannon and a vindicator.
Hq:
I allot you 320 points for your mandatory slot it must include one tda
dwcs, hf, champion, th/ss, bof (325)
Dedicated lrc, mm (290)
Troops:
1x10 tactical marines, combi plasma, plasma gun, rhino (200)
1x5 tacticals, storm bolter, hb (85)
1x5 scouts (60)
1x10 tactical marines, melta gun, combi melta, mm drop pod (205)
Elite:
Dwt, Asc, cf (245)
Dwt, lcs, plasma cannon (245)
Venerable dreadnaught, drop pod (160)
Heavy:
Deredeo dreadnaught, assault cannons, missle launcher (220)
Vindicator laser destroyer (130)
Total is 2500 on the dot and it's really powerful.

I've basically changed Metroidd's list by putting the Lib on a bike and having a Ravenwing CC with an apoc and like four Knights.

The RW CS is a good choice, a bit more expensive than the standard one i put but probably better in the long run. Although they do want to finish units of in CC so the PFG may not be the best idea in this case.
As for the termies it depends who you fight more often. Knights can take on any csm unit and some hordes like orks but 1 smite mode per game is a problem.
Where as the termie squad i listed is good for all roles i think. Mainly for killing any MCs or tanks but can take on bigger squads too. If you want you could do this
DW Terminators 255
CML, Lightning claws x2, TH&SS x2.
This gives enough attacks to deal with pretty much any unit you face and you can also split fire at a tank with the CML then charge another squad for some cheese.

Used correctly, I think that this army could be good. Another question though, what banner would you recommend for the RW command squad? Is the RW banner good?

I prefer this build but with 1 chainfist storm bolter. This way since they have split fire you can fire the missile at something and then shoot the 1 storm bolter at the unit you want to charge. If not you have to charge the unit you shot the missile at and you don't always want that.
I also like the extra anti armor.

So my list is...
Bike Lib: Displacer field, Auspex.
RW Command: Apocethary, RW grenade launcher,
2x5 Tacticals: Flamer, Combi-Melta, Razorback mit assault cannon.
2x5 Ravenwing Attack squad: 2 Melta.
Deathwing Termies: Cyclone, chainfist, x2 TH SS
Whirlwind.
I like it, but if the Ravenwing fail then the whole army dies, maybe not enough assault units?

fortitude is basically my pick of the little most of the time as devastation is situational due to its range limitations, it's a good relic for defensive play and Ravens of any amount aren't defensive.
The chapter banner and ravenwing banners are probably my next picks in line as +1 attack in cc can be useful if your using some cc elements or want some extra punch on black Knights or what have you. And the ravenwing banner is good if you have lots of Ravens.
The retribution banner is dead last as counter attack is one of those nice to have special rules but not really practical much like crusader or stubborn.

When you said assault cannons on the Deredeo dread, did you mean Autocannons? Because I thought that it couldn't have assault cannons
