Hello Dakka Dakka, not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I was wondering if any of the wonderful people here had any ideas for an insignia of my new(est) CSM force. They're called the Blood Specters and use a dark red with brass trim and have white left shoulder pads (where the insignia will be painted, or placed if I'm too lazy and decide to make decals lol). Any ideas/brainstorming would be more than appreciated, thanks for reading (if this is in the wrong forum please inform me and I'll repost it where it should go )

They fight via drop pod assault (I need to get to work in my dreadclaw/Khayribdus conversions. Their goals are really just to kill the most worthy opponents possible, they believe that those who can't defend themselves don't make proper tributes to Khorne, so they hunt down the enemy generals warheros etc. also, not sure if it's important but something to think about, they're completely silent when fighting.

I like the background you've come up with, I really like the idea of silent warriors bursting into a place, finding the biggest toughest warriors, dispatching them, and then basically disappearing again. Also, I like that this worship of Khorne is a little more nuanced than simply pools of blood.

Clearly the sudden arrival and silence, couple with their name, gives an impression of ghosts. Perhaps look up some images of ghosts or wraiths and see if something looks do-able for you?

Perhaps a set of scales, to represent the way they judge their opponents in search of worthy kills?

A fist, surrounded by a starburst, to represent their sudden destructive arrival?

A noose, killing their foes in silence like a hangman?

Hope some of those ideas help.

What about a slightly less detailed version of this?


Make it an 8 pointed star for Chaos, and main element matches their chapter name. You might consider something more basic like a red skull design to show their preference for seeking enemy leaders (decapitating the enemy command structure)
