I finally completed the second ark. I noticed a few touch ups that need to be done while taking pics, but the light was good and I didn't want to delay taking pics.
This exhausted me to no end. Weeks of work for a 115 point transport! I don't think I'll be painting another anytime soon..
They're both magnetized to be converted to a Doomsday Ark. I didn't take any pictures of it, as frankly, I don't think I'll ever be using them as Doomsday arks. Maybe once I get up to 3-4 of them, and I'm not sure that will ever happen.
Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you magnetize a ghost ark to a doomsday arc, just curious.

I just noticed I didn't really say anything about it before!
First things first, I decided to keep the 'ribs' of the model facing up on both the Doomsday ark and the Ghost ark. I did this because I prefer the looks of it. The Doomsday cannon is a beautiful, large piece of glowy goodness, so I feel that it'd be a pity to hide it underneath the ribs. Besides, this way, I have a plainly visible black/orange core in the ribs section, protected by cold blue material of the ribs, which is kinda the theme I was going for for this army.
That said, you could make the ribs section flippable, and it wouldn't be too hard. The biggest problem would be the little guns, you'd have to make them detachable and flippable too. That's not difficult, but would make the model a bit fiddly overall.
I used this video for inspiration:
That dude magnetized everything, but without rotating the ribcage only some of that work is needed.
Here's my end result:
Spoiler:
Basically, don't glue the front bit of the ribcage (the bow) and don't glue the radiating gem bit that attaches to the rear portion of the ark. I filed them down a bit and magnetized for that snappy, clicky contact, but I didn't have to honestly. They'd stay put by themselves just fine.
With that, you can just put the radiating gem up front (where the bow used to be) and snap the Doomsday cannon in. The rear portion of the cannon and the three points of the cannon that attach to the 'spine' snap into place, and the cannon stays put very firmly even without magnets if you assemble the model tight. Again, I added some magnets just because, both in the rear section of the cannon and in the middle point that attaches to the spine. I didn't use those pipes that lead off the side of the cannon.
As for the Ghost Ark crew, that was a bit more work. I did that exactly as in the video I posted above. The small holes on the spine that the crew's platforms attach to are pretty much exactly 3x3mm, so I used a 3mm drill to make room for magnets. Because of the size of that preexisting hole, no measuring is needed and It's very easy to be precise while doing this. Just drill from one side until you breach, then drill from the other side until you breach and exit through the other side. Then I used 3x2mm round magnets there, one on each side, flush to where the crew platform attachments would go.
Then I drilled the crew's platforms using a 2mm drill and used 2x1mm magnets there. If you take a look at the platform attachment thing, you'll see a small hole is there already, just waiting to be widened to 2mm and magnetized.
The result is a very firm contact and the crew platforms snap into place very easily, standing perfectly parallel to each other.
If you're wondering or confused about something I could take a few closeups. But honestly, without flipping the ribcage, it's a very easy magentization. Hope this has been helpful.
