If these are Games Workshop paint pots:
1. Take a sculpting tool or other hard, metal object that isn't too sharp, and scrape off the excess paint on the lip so that the cover will close properly. Note that you can remove the entire fliptop lid (just insert some flat tool like a screwdriver or sculpting tool under the plastic ring and gently lift).
2. Add some Lahmian medium (not very much) and it will restore nicely.
You can also spin the fliptop around, to get better access to the other side, as the area that accumulates paint is the area right behind the tab.
