not that I am trying to push you into buying, but having several brands of paints (not the same colours of course) will help you develop your painting skills even more. each brand of paint has its own characteristics and you can combine them to get interesting results (added subliminal message: 'buy warcolours paints')

Haha, its purely an OCD thing that requires me to have the same paints! I could just get some dropper bottles and convert them I suppose!

I'll try pretty much any paint brand. On my workbench I currently have:

Citadel, Vallejo, Jo Sonja, Liquitex, Golden, Tamiya, Testors, Badger, Reaper, Army Painter, and Warcolours.

Every paint has its strengths and weaknesses. Over time I just find myself gravitating to certain paints for certain situations. Citadel Base colors are my go-to for solid color coverage. I like Reaper's triads. Vallejo is good for matching military colors and their line of airbrush paints is a staple for basecoating with the airbrush. At the moment I find that I'm starting with Warcolours and only reaching for other paints on occasion when there's a particular color I want pre-mixed that isn't in my current Warcolors palette (I have at least half of the range now) or if I want an airbrush paint. The thing is, that seems to be happening less and less now. I'm really loving the Warcolours line.

That is a really solid endorsement spork.

Raises an interesting question too - poison_ can we see an airbush ready range or option any time soon? (I'm lazy)

The paints are intended for use in airbrush or hairy brush.

I find I'm using mine a lot, it's pretty much a toss up between warcolours or Foundry Paint System.

Airbrush from the dropper?

I've done it but I find it on the heavy side straight from the bottle. I'll generally go 50/50 with paint to airbrush medium to get a nice flow.

Is there any chance to include a Visa Electron or any other type of card payment? Just curious, because I never managed to extract my Paypal code and they still owe me 1.5 Eu...

You should be able to pay by paypal without having a paypal account.

Unless you want to avoid paypal because they are a cancerous company, in which case you should deal with it like the rest of us

Actually I just googled about that and it could be possible to order paint set without having account.
Atm my Paypal is blocked because I cannot recieve my code they charged me with money for and it seems that my bank can't help it either.
Apologies for derailing the thread, but Im gonna try those new paints

Looks interesting, I'll definitely be picking up a set soon (have had to put my hobbies on hold for annoying life reasons).

On the old thread, I sent a test card for a specific paint colour I'd like to see replicated (the green thing with the iridescent/metallic look); and just wanted to know if you got it, and if it looks like something you might be able to do.

Here's a photo of that range (plus random copper):

That should be a white paper towel, for colour reference.

I'm a complete newbie to painting 40k miniatures. Actually I'm really bad at art. We'll see if I can improve. Just purchased an air brush setup. Grabbed a full size 1.8 hp 8 gallon compressor, noisy but multipurpose, grabbed a Badger 105 Patriot, as well as the Sotar 20/20. I grabbed some watercolors to practice airbrushing with initially, will likely start painting with it tomorrow, then I'll move on to basic folk-art using tap water to thin it out (but about to order in some airbrush medium).

I decided that I when I'm finally comfortable enough, I'll need a good airbrush paint to actually do up my 40k models. I've ordered a ton of paint for 60 bucks. Something around 30 bottles for 60 bucks. Not bad considering I had in my cart at Michaels 10 bottles of Aztek airbrush paint which would after tax have cost 70...

Will review from the absolute newbie's perspective when the paints arrive, and I've had time to actually use them.

Finally got to use some of the metallics today! Been looking forward to it for ages!!
Only used the pale gold and silver so far and the colours are glorious!
Only thing bothering me with them both at the moment though, is that they're extremely thin/watery. Given how thin they are though, they give great coverage. Was just hoping for a slightly thicker paint like the copper.

Consistency seems very varied in all the metallic paints though. I shook up all the ones I bought as pigments had settled in the post, and some are like water whilst others have a nice thick feel to them (loving the multiple agitators in each bottle btw!!)

Pictures pictures pictures!.

I ordered the flesh set and the white.

Iv always had issues with white coming out chalky so im hoping this is going to fix all that issues.

White. Oh god white. Try light gray! It's a lot easier to paint than the demon known as white.

Already do but there are applications where you need pure white.

I know this thread is getting old, but I'm not sure where else to put this (don't hurt me mods).
I bought a colour called 'metallic crimson' and I expected it to be a lot less... pink than it is. I'm not suggesting you change the colour, just the name; although the problem is primarily due to my being an idiot rather than your choice of phrase.

(And even though it wasn't the crimson I was looking for, it sure is fabulous.)
