Hello all, with the new Space Marine book now out (And in my hands), I have a question regarding Honour Guard.

Now having had a brief read through the Honour Guard entry and Calgar Entry, I can no longer see a limitation on Honour Guard being taken only if you have a chapter master or calgar.

So a librarian etc could take them?

Could someone please confirm this, as I can not find anywhere stating you are not allowed.

I think you are correct. As long as you can fit them into your Detatchment or formation, take as many as you want.

They are Elite picks now so can take as many as you want to fill those slots up.

Previously you had to "pay an HQ tax" to get them, and as such in a normal (then FOC) CAD you could only have 2.

Now, you can have 3, but at the cost of those other units. I don't know about you guys but my army has too many elites already! Lol!

They still smack of awesomeness, and probably always will.

Sgt. Chronos is a HQ pick now as well as Talion. If you just want a mandetory HQ tax for your deathstar, and “some form of transport” includes a LR. He’s your man!

Or you could just stick him in a rhino/razor, but that’s a little overkill.
