Want to run this list at an upcoming local Tournament. I want to take advantage of using a culexus assassin to shut down powers from armies such as Nids, Eldar, deamons, Chaos and SM libby powers I see people looking to use in the new codex.
I also am looking to run the Stormwing formation to put the assassin in to create a 24" anti psycic bubble and to also be my anti air defense.

Assasin: Culexus

Looks solid though I would if IH tactics works better for 4+ on those command squads, which would allow you to swap Khan for a Libby. What's adamantine on the CM? If it's not Artificier armour then it should be.

Otherwise looks good. Not saying IH is definitely better than WS as Scouts gives you a 42" threat range to start dealing damage turn 1. Though having everything hit turn 2 does create more pressure.

You'll get a lot more utiliity out of your culexus if you give it a pod. Could be achieved pretty easily by dropping the 3 combis and taking a pf on the chapter master instead of a hammer. Other than that looks solid.

I had considered Culexus in a pod and I might try it out. Was a bit concerned he might then be exposed too much after the drop. Then again ill be scouting up in support with the Command and bike squads so getting him on the board quickly might be good. To be honest the more I think about it the 35 pint pod gives me a lot of flexability. I can choose to deploy in a pod or the Stormraven depending on the circumstance

As someone who runs a lot of psychic based armies, having 1 turn where none or most of your psychic defenses are nullified (invisibility, shrouding, cursed earth) can be devestating. There are few things my daemons fear more than a Culexus in a drop pod. Whereas one on foot gets to see an airshow as 8-9 screamers fly overhead and slashes em to death!

Good point gardeth. I dont think i ever intended on have him walk onto the board. The intention was to put him in the Stormraven. However this means waiting at least till turn 2 to come on the board. Running the Calexus will be a first for me and im going to get in a game tomorrow with it. Gardeth i appreciate you commenting on the Culexus. From your experiance would you be open to discussing how to best use the assasin agains psycich armies ? If not here, in a PM ?
