Admiral Motti, if I destroy his ship, do the remaining ships from his fleet lose his effect.

Gunnery Team, no restrictions are listed, so if I have 5 avaliable targets in one arc, I can fire one at each? Three squadrons, and 4 ships.....Seems too good to be true.

Thanks

Yes. This is no different than any other upgrade card equipped on a ship; no ship, no card.

No. The text of the card reads:
"You can attack from the same hull zone more than once per activation. That hull zone cannot target the same ship or squadron more than once during that activation."
There is no restriction listed because "activation" is the qualifier. You're limited to the maximum amount of attacks your ship has per activation, which is two. If there is an upgrade card that allows more than two (which I do not believe there is currently one in game), than you could fire from the same arc that many times (with the obvious restrictions from Gunnery Team in effect).

Further to the Motti question (pretty sure i know the answer) but if say i have a glad now left on 1 HP and Moti (lets say in a VSD) dies does he stay at 1 HP or will he be removed as he has the same ammount of damage cards as his HP?

You lose the benefit of any upgrade card equipped to a ship if that ship is destroyed. If you have damage cards equal to or greater than your hull value, your ship is destroyed.

So yes, that extra hull point would be gone and your ship is destroyed... So if he doesn't get shot down, you better hope Vader doesn't Force choke him to death before the end of your game!

No it isn't.

All upgrades are from cards which have to be equipped to ships. If you could load up a ship with a bunch of powerful cards that still gave you their benefit after the ship was lost, it would be essentially break the game.

That's actually incredibly precise and concise rules writing. All effects from cards end when the card leaves play unless otherwise specially mentioned, which includes Motti.

You could imagine it as the admiral's presence or leadesrhip is preventing his crews from abandoning a crippled ship too early, resulting in a few more hull points effectively before the ship's knocked out.

Yes it is, a ship can magically go boom because an admiral suddenly disappears, either the ship is enhanced structurally or it isn't, it should be permanent and not vanish when the admiral dies, with the others cards I'm with you and it makes sense, this one instance it stupid to me.

Think of it as the captain panicking without Motti and ordering the ship abandoned. Or any other multitude of things that could make a ship fight longer because of an individual in the fleet.

Makes perfect sense to me even if I don't like it guess Motti goes on my ISD once it comes out.

Motti is a master of damage control. He can direct the right team to the right spot to fight a casualty and keep his ships in the fight.
When he dies, his skill is gone (just as Palleon abandoned the final attack when Thrawn was killed; he knew Thrawn could pull out a victory and he could not). The rest of the Fleet then suffers the loss of that skill.

Precisely. The ship isn't going boom instantly - they rarely do, death stars aside - but instead dropping out of the fight, surrendering, or the crew abandoning ship.
Motti's presence keeps them in line a bit longer - and hearing that the admiral himself has been killed or has legged it takes the fight out of them, and they evacuate too.

Ok ok, I can now see your points, I reserve the right to still think it's stupid though!

Yeah, it would be nice to have an upgrade "Admirals Shuttle" that would let you transfer your Commander to any other ship within a specific range (say...short to Medium) should the flagship die.
Even as the Death Star was about to go, Tarkin was advised to leave the ship.

Readied Shuttle
Hangar Upgrade
Cost: 12

Effect:
Discard this Card: Choose a ship at close-medium range. Move the commander and the flagship token to the other ship. May not be used on Grand Moff Tarkin

Nice idea - the one concern is changing the points values of ships mid-game.

A fleet commander - especially one like tarkin - is worth a huge number of points; more than another small ship, in fact, so a get-out-of-death free card for him needs to be carefully balanced.

Well, you still get the extra 12 points for the shuttle card, and you get the Commander if you can kill the other ship.
And the bonus...if your opponent is worried about it, it will force him to keep his ships together and limit his tactical mobility.
