Subject: NEW 7th Ed 1850 Space Marines White Scars vs Chaos Space Marines
I look at the biker command squads in Elite as reflecting bike mounted veterans, so that now all types of SM veterans are represented, tactical, assault, terminator, and bike.
The centurion feel like overkill. I'd rather have a fire raptor to handle anti aircraft or the thunder fire formation to nuke hordes with.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.

If chaos was more about dogs and bloodletters, sm would have much harder time with all those useless grav. But yep, grav spam is just like this. It absolutely murderises some types of lists while being not so good against the other. I'm playing footslogging orkses and 6+ armor is a lifesaver against all those gravspam =)

Do dogs have an answer for knights? I've never played against them. Also if that heldrake had come on earlier it would have deleted a command squad per turn, so that was a bit of bad luck.
And orks can suck to face with white scars. Old dakka pole ravenwing was a fun match up against orks but scars need to use a bunch of hit and run slingshots and even then, it's very uphill due to the board control and threat radius of each mob. That's actually why I recommended taking the treble thunderfire formation. 12 small blasts at BS 6 should give the bikers some breathing room.

Yeah, I was bouncing back and fourth between drop pod centurions and the 3 man no weapon bike squad and playing triple storm talons. I normally always have them as they are good AA with a good amount of shots and cover a lot of grav bike spams weaknesses.
Funny enough, Orks and Eldar are the two armies my White Scars have lost the most against. Hard to create a list that is efficient at killing both a Wraith Knight and 180 boyz.

Thanks for the report
But the weakest codex (Chaos of course) against one of the worst list possible to make with SM codex dont give a really interesting battle unfortunatly :-/

Yeah I'd really like to see a report with the triple talons. I don't love Khan, because I rarely feel the need to scout. But his warlord trait comes in handy for me all the time.
Have you thought about going whole hog and tossing in Smashfether in a Lance command squad and a raptor to go with your talons? You'd have to drop the Knight and a little maelstrom squad but if you're reserving them anyway, the master starts on the board, so can score points earlier, and he can break off later and is much more threatening and survivable than the scoring squad. And the raptor is a hard counter to FMCs, killing a non jinking flyrant a turn with just average rolls. Decent against hordes too, with the quad HBs.
If you did that, you'd be strong in 2 aspects, CC and anti tank, totally dominant in anti MC, anti air, and anti elites, and only weak against horde assaulting infantry, which you're bad against anyway.

Flesh Hounds can escort a Power Fist Chaos Lord on Juggernaut/Bike, which may or may not give the Knight some issues. Pray that it doesn't roll a 6 for Stomp though.

The game was 1850, for starters lol. It looks like a solid list, no doubt. I would personally prefer more grav bikes to the scouts, but stormtalons and thunderfire cannons are great support for a White Scars army. I am trying to get in another game this week and I will drop the Centurions for Stormtalons.

I'd try to get a game in against a more competitive list. No offense at all to your opponent, but the outcome of that game could be predicted quickly based on looking at the lists.

The tournament is this Saturday and this player asked to do a test game on facebook for it. I agree my list was a lot more stream lined and cheesy, but there were no hard feelings and he knew I would be bringing a nasty list well in advance and chose to bring what he brought.

Good day to you sir. I might be missing something here, but I can't find an entry in my 7th edition space marine codex that would turn bike squads in to troops anymore. If I am mistakng, could you please refer me to the page number in the new SM codex?

The mounted assault special rule under the bike entry.
