So... does a combat familiar's inflicted wounds count towards goredrinker's wound pool? Likewise do goredrinker's affects also impact the combat familiar's attacks?

(talked about briefly in the Juggerlord loadout thread in tactics, but I thought this deserved its own post in YMDC)

It does, the goredrinker rule IIRC makes you check how many wounds in CC has the model wielding it made, so as long as they are done in close combat they count towards the goredrinker tally

CSM 10k points
IG 3k points
Orks 2k points
WoC 3.5k points
VC 2.5k points

But a familiar is technically its own model? At least can be represented as its own. So it's like it isn't actually the lord making those attacks, it's the familiar.

No, if you choose to represent the familiar separately it takes no part in the game and is there for fluff purposes only. RAW it's the Lord making the extra attacks and so any unsaved Wounds from them do indeed count towards the Goredrinker tally.

That's freaking sweet. So what about Goredrinker's effects? Surely my CC attacks with the familiar get double strength and instant death as well, yeah?

The attacks made by the familiar are done at a set Str value and AP, therefore even if the wielder get whatever bonus the attacks remain with the same profile, is like shooting a range weapon in the sense that they ignore the wielders profile. If you have 15 extra points it is a good place to put it as it gives you more chance to build up the tally

Set Strength and AP yes, but it doesn't say anything about preventing bonus rules. Goredrinker confers instant death to the wielders melee attacks. So that would extend to the familiars attacks.

A juggerlords hammer of wrath would also add to the tally, but in contrast to the familiar that would not benefit from instant death as HoW specifically forbids that.

Mm, I see. Yeah, they must get instant death. Makes sense!
