I've recently acquired a whole bunch of beastmen, which I am turning into Daemon Princes, Bloodletters and Cultists. With them however are a number of shamans ad such, and I'm wondering how best to bend them to khornes will.
Naturally, as a melee orientated god, Khorne hates anything actually effective in the game of 40k, such as guns and psykers. But I figure, he wouldn't mind a few pathetic mewling wannabe wizards being used as portals for his bloodied hordes to enter the mortal plane. So I'm after some strictly mortal malefic caddies - no tzeenchy daemons or other non-khornate stuff allowed!
Chaos Sorcerers would be alright, except that these models are rather distinctly non-power armoured. Plus they're expensive - Khorne demands vengeance for every point spent on psychic scum, so I would like to keep it to a minimum.
Also wondering if the daemons that arrive are BB with the daemonkin army, or do they keep the 'faction' of the unfortunate who summoned them. Would be a bit naff if I have to use IG psykers or some such and then suddenly they are CtA allies with everything else in my army.

I would deffo use them as CSM sorcs if it was me, BB with KDK and all... However I would stay open to the suggestion of them being an allied tzeench herald, great value point for point.
As you have said though, Khorne is the god of winning the hard way  so whichever you choose it will be interesting, still we don't play 40k to be boring.
Maybe you could convert some power armour onto them.

BB isn't much of an issue, mainly just want to avoid DA. The only buff is a general "all daemons in 12' " which I believe would be unaffected by alliance levels. Otherwise they just summon.
Gonna try three weirdboyz with 15 man slugga boyz to represent the twisted mutants. Doubt it will even make its points back [510 for 9 dice] but in large games you can take inefficient stuff and it doesn't matter so much. If I was trying to make it competitive would be three units of grots @ 90pts instead of the 45 boyz @ 270

Jinking Ravenwing Land Speeder Pilot
|
The space marine Librarius conclave is now the most effective summoning unit. Its a formation so no wasted points. Easily represented with chaos miniatures but use loyalist rules

Could do Crimson Slaughter. There's an artefact that turns the sorcerer into a daemon, negates the bad for summoning with non-daemons, and then the sorcerer can only join possessed. Which have slightly better rules than regular codex. And could easily be represented by beastmen.

I don't have any advice to give to you, as I run all Tzeentch Daemon Summoning engines, but I did want to exalt you for expertly summoning up Khorne in 40K

You'd still one at least one unit of Boyz for the extra Pycher dice.

One boyz mob to power up all the psykers instead of one each... thats not too bad an idea man. Would switch that immediately if musclebound axe swinging beastmen models and gretchin profiles weren't so massively incompatible

That sounds pretty mint, especially since IIRC possessed are mandatory in DK. Would also run those better possessed rules from slaughter too as the people I play with are open to houserules.
Yeah when I toyed around with Black Templars I ran into the same gak and realized that this is a theme in GW armies. Or even melee orientated Orks - so literally every army I have ever been interested in sucks at the good parts of the game.

Haha the sheer troll value of this makes it a viable choice for me. I also reconciled myself with DA and CtA allies - the daemons are wary of their psychic slaves, and the slaves know that the daemons will rip them apart at a moments notice. Viola, instant "one eye open" justification. The other Imperial one that looks good is Astra Militarum which could field three psyker units and three psyker characters with one detachment, as well as being pathetic meatbags to boot. Pity theres no convict squads for troops anymore those were great and would fit a khorne murdercult type thing quite well
