It's not terrible at 500 there are few if any threats to winged Tyrant, but I suggest putting Electro grubs on it, just to get in the habit. You can find the 10 points by dropping Devoured x.

When you move up in points you should look at adding Venothropes,, and Zoanthropes in your Elite slots, then filling in the Heavy slots.

Good luck! And welcome to the Hive Mind.

The will of the hive is always the same: HUNGER

A flyrant at 500 points is kind of a huge dick move. Nobody has anything to deal with it at that point level.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

You should take two Flyrants at 500 Points.

Hmm good idea it is probably indeed better to do that.

I read before that it could be a dick move indeed. but i made my army on information i got of the internet ( since i dont know what i was/am doing cause i havent played any games yet) and people say that hive tyrand winged +TLD + Grubs = THE ONLY good HQ choice for nids so i just build gim that way. Now that i want to start out with a small army to get the hang of it i only got him with wings :S.

I got 2 Dakkafexes and a Broodlord with 5 genestealers. U think any of them would be a better HQ choice for this list ?

None of them are HQ choices. You'll be better off with a Tervigon at this points level, maybe taking one unit of Genestealers and a Broodlord for traits.

As stated, a Tervigon at 500 points is not the massive dick move a flyer is while still being tough as nails to kill AND producing more troops for you.

A Nid Prime is not as bad as people make it out to be, especially if you are bringing warriors anyway. And especially if you give it a Miasma Cannon. It's definitely outclassed in higher point games, but 800 and below? Yeah, a Prime can get gak done.

Lol, you know I didn't think it would be possible to include 2 flyrants in a 500 point list and still fill in the appropriate army slots but it actually is!

Behold, the Ultimate 500 point w40k list

HQ
2 Flyrants, one with twin linked devourer and one with deathspitter (420 points)

Troops
2 Ripper Swarms (78 points)

Flyrants do their thing (mass destruction and chaos) and ripper swarms sit their and scratch their butts with no real purpose other than filling up the mandatory troop slots.

Uhh, you do two Flyrants with double Devourers and 2 Mucolids. One has Egrubs because you've got points for it.

More Dakka, more carnage. Hopefully roll Warp Lance or Egrubs over 4-6 turns that pesky Land Raider.

Yeah, I was suggesting 2 Mucolids:

HQ:
Hive Tyrant, Wings, x2 Twin linked Devourers, Electroshock grubs 240
Hive Tyrant, Wings, x2 Twin linked Devourers 230

Troops:
Mucolid Spore 15
Mucolid Spore 15

Total: 500

Oh whoops, I missed the mucolids on the troops list, thanx for catching that. Wow, you even fitted in the full electroflyrant build too.

I made a bunch of 500 point nid lists because we often do "new player days" at our FLGS.
As far as a flyrant is considered a WAC move, I have seen new players bringing plasma Leman Russ with Pask and 2 plasma vet squads, TH/SS termies with 2 unit of scouts, and even a 3 TWC with TH/SS wolf lord on TWC...

Dunno if they will hard on WYSIWYG, but try to get a sporocyst or proxy it.
My best results were with a lashwhip-bonesword prime, 3 warriors with stranglethorn (for pinning), terma, horma, a dakkafex and a sporocyst.
Either the terma or the warriors or the fex can go into the spore.

Next time I will experiment with a deathleaper - mawloc combo.
