I wrote a chapter creator in Python (https://trinket.io/python/73d2065bcd) that's based off this dice roll one (http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Space_Marine_Chapter_Creation_Tables(Yes, I know, THIS website)).
Just press run, scroll to the top and start reading.

If you have any constructive criticism, please say!

(I think this is the right place to post it, as it generates backstory)

Interesting so far.

Really like what you did. Pretty easy program by the looks of it

You could also add in a name generator.

With the code it is pretty easy. It would just take a while. Plus it looks impressive.

To add to that list, I would suggest "Limited in strength, less than three companies."

"Bloodthirsty, feast on their enemies."

To add to that you can add culture/religion.

The only I see here is the worship of the primarch all while ignoring his Codex

The codex is the work of one Primarch. Almost every chapter has some form of deviation from the codex. Reverting their Primarch Ferrus Manus and not having a Chapter Master and instead a council of Masters and Captains is perfectly legitiment. Or having only 7 companies, based on the colonies of recruitment instead of all in the fortress monastery, like Vulkan wanted for his legion, or having every company equipped with bike squads like the White Scars. Or, having a separate formation just for Tyranid War vets...
There isn't a single organization in the Imperium actively enforces the codex started; a few keep watch on the more divert chapters, like SW, DA, and BA and BT. But none would think to make the entire Space Marine forces uniformally codex-adherent

Yeah it only makes the chapters stagnant, the more different the better equipped for certain situations. Some are meant for stealth etc.

Basically everything said by icmiracle above.

I like it! very simple and saves a lot of thinking. plus of there is anything you don't like you can just sub it out at least this can be used as a starting point.

also it says my Gene seed is flawed but where it says Flaw it states that there is no flaw so may want to have a look at this but apart from that. simple and cheerful

He's referencing seed_purity when it should be referencing seed. A simple mistake.

In the example given they were venerating Guilliman, the creator of the Codex, though
