The advantages it brought were tank squadrons, a unit gaining TH from the seige captain, 4HS slots and manlets for tac marines (for a considerable amount of points), dev cents in elites and stormraven in FA.
So the advantages it brings now are 4HS slots and manlets for tac marines and ravens in FA. (Can get squadrons now, squadrons get TH anyway, IF can have cent devs in elites).
Are these advantages really worth the huge inconvenience of the seige objective now? If not, what's the point of the list?

No, it's not the list's fault. It's GW's for massive amount of Power Creep.

Well, with Red Scorpions they can still provide SOME unique flavor with the ultimate unkillable tacticals....

But in general, that list never HAD a point. tank squads where never a major attraction, especially not at 6th/7th where you can take multiple CADs.

FW army lists are often a swing and a miss. power creep has nothing to do with it (seriously, tank squads is "power creep" in your eyes? who NEEDS tank squads in marines?) even lists released after their parent codex at times provide nothing of value, especially the PDF ones, who are basically just fixing old lists to be playable under current rules rather than true updates.

Maybe when badab gets redone (rumored to be coming in a month) a new siege assault list emerge, but under the current codex, there is hardly a need for it unless they make some MAJOR changes.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

I dunno, Battle Cannons will still wipe them out by the handful as if they were little more than guardsmen.

Badab is rumored to be fixed in a month? Where'd you hear that?

Someone got excited about a banner ad on Forge World and the vague email they got in response. It doesn't hold any water yet though.

as for space marines and squadrons, it's actually kinda nice. with cronos being an HQ, space Marines are nearly as good as IG at running armor lists.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
