Here is a link to the lists, click the flag to see each country. Apologies for linking to a non English site but can't them hosted elsewhere.
Who do you think will win this year? Any stand out lists?
I think this year will be by far the most competitive!

Thanks for sharing!
There's a Swedish list with 50(!!!) Wars spiders and because that wasnt enough, 12 swooping hawks.
Confused by the UK de/eldar list - what is he deepstriking with his archon, the bike seer council? Isn't that fast and durable enough to get anywhere it wants on its own?
How come so many lists take a lone inquisitor as their warlord, does he get a nice table or is it just because he's super cheap?

Most of these are so-called pseudo-lists. It has to do with ETC team composition rules, each codex is allowed once as a primary CAD and once as a non-primary non- CAD. By taking a minimum inquisition detachment as the primary you can fit another eldar or necron list into your team. That's the point of making him the warlord, at least. Seer councils probably like having those servo skulls around anyway.

Ahh, I understand, thx. Made classifying lists a bit difficult (is a 'primary' DA list really a DA list if it has 75% of its points in space wolves etc) but now I understand why it was done that way.

Skimmed through some of the countries, and overall it looks very similar: Eldar, Necrons, Daemons, Tau, Space Marines, Knights. And pretty much the same units.
Gonyo's list (USA) looks interesting, I'd like seeing how he makes the pod-guard work.
"Typus"'s list (Poland) is neat too with all necron barges.
I see some lists from Romania and Belarus with a lot of Soul Grinders and even Skitarii walkers in one of them, this is also something I've never seen before, I wonder if it works.
My bet is that Poland will take it this year too

I like the finnish eldar/ de player a lot for actually taking a real DE force and not a taxi service. I believe he was the only one.
Saw a bunch of players fielding an IK formation backed by as many venoms as you can fit in. Didn't know that was a thing, i guess it's some kind of meta inclusion? Or is that popular elsewhere too?
I was a little surprised there were 0 harlequin inclusions but it makes sense with how many points even the smallest formation requires, anyone going for a different primary would just pick a cheaper unit.

BB allies are far, far worse for game balance than CTA allies.
CTA might be bad from a fluff perspective, but at least there are penalties for taking them. BB allies essentially makes 'Armies of the Imperium' the best rule in the game as you can stack all kinds of psychic buffs, USR's and drop pod taxi services; whereas armies with few/no BB's (Orks, Necrons, Tau, Nids) get comparatively left behind.

Here is a crazy idea....stop letting GW [MOD EDIT - Please find a different way to express that. - Alpharius] your wallets and let's go back to single codex source.....I know crazy right...now you dont have to worry about how codex specific rules will interact with each other (obviously GW doesn't care how they do).

Aaron Aleong's list from the American team is illegal. His ravenwing bike squad must have 6 bikes+attack bike before you can take the speeder unless hes using the new codex which in this case his chaplain cant take a power field generator since its no longer in the book

The only requirement for a speeder is 6 bikes. The attack bike doesn't factor into it at all. You might be thinking 5th edition codex and not 6th. It was a requirement in 5th.

You should re-read the 6th edition codex ravenwing entry and then reread Aaron's list. It is 100% completely legal.
He has 6 bikes + speeder. In the DA codex the ravenwing entry says "if the squadron includes six ravenwing bikers(including sergeant of veteran sergeant), it may include a single land speeder chosen from the ravenwing support squadron entry below." So could you explain a little bit more why you think his list is illegal? I'm confused.

I don't have my book on me since im at work but as I remember a change from the last codex to this one was the ravenwing squad. Before it was up to 6 bikes at 6 you can take the attack bike at 6+attack you can then add the speeder. The new book is at 6 bikes you can add either the speeder or the attack bike. Ill admit I could be wrong but as I remember reading it for as long as I have played it, its always been until 7th that you had to have all 6 bikes and the attack bike to bring the speeder in the ravenwing squad.

We're using the old DA, not the new, at the ETC. The ETC cutoff was May 15th for new books since list deadline was June 15th and we have to develop FAQs for any new books.
This is an exact retype of the books text:
-The squadron may include on raven attack bike - 45
-If the squadron includes six ravenwing bikers (including a sgt or vtn sgt) it may include a single land speeder chosen from the ravenwing support squadron entry below.
His list is completely legal.

Overall, I'm disappointed that most armies are essentially monobuild. Space marines have a couple (Drop Pods, Bikes, Cents), Eldar have 2 (Scat Bikes, and Warp Spiders) and Necrons have an interesting variety, but basically all other armies are mono build or just rare.
I guess we've finally got enough data to dismiss the silly rhetoric that the Craftworld codex made "Every Unit good, and usable at a competitive level", and thus is "a great balanced codex" At ETC lots and lots of unit failed to make an appearance. Most lists are a few units (Scat Bikes, Warp Spiders, and Fire Dragons) in different ratios, with a few window dressing components. Its not as bad as Codex Hive Tyrant, but isn't a terribly diverse army either.

It depends on what you mean by 'good', 'competitive level' and 'balanced'...
The power creep is pushing a lot decent units in to obscurity; and the competitive nature of tournaments means that if there is even a slight edge to unit A over unit B, B will be instantly labelled as terrible and never make the table.
So while the new codex made a lot of Eldar 'good' (as in good enough to take for light-hearted or semi-competitive garage games) there are other things that are just mathematically better.
Daemons are still seeing a few different builds. Tau seem to be relegated to All Farsight All the Time. The Firebase cadre is making a comeback as Preferred Enemy(Marines) is pretty epic at the moment.

Unlike previous years, when it was Codices Wave Serpent, Croissants, Bikerstorm and Centurionstar?
The highest competitive levels will always look like that I guess, especially when it's a team tournament like ETC. It's still a lot more varied than other times though I feel.

100% agree. At any competitive event you're sure to have people gravitate towards the "best" builds for various codices, but at least at the ETC you can't just take 8 of exactly the same thing, and at best you can do 1 list and 1 other very similar one for each archetype. Heck remember 5th edition? I distinctly remember the top quarter of any given event being almost entirely mech guard and mech gk light AV spam lists with little to no variation.

It's generally true of every event, no matter how "competitive" or not. ETC, NOVA, ATC, LVO, BAO, etc. You'll usually have partisans of each/any given event claiming theirs somehow had "more" variety or was a special snowflake, but the game is too imbalanced to ever have really serious variety in terms of what's "good." At ETC, everybody wants to bring what's good ... why would you not? Ipso facto, within the confines of the format, each list is going to be at or near top tier, and that's usually close to a mono build.
Folks are right - the ETC at least forces some variety by team, even if each team is pretty similar to any other team.
