I can see that beating Nick's daemons, very tactical and enough warp charge to compete. I am wondering if the cents had chest missiles which are very a great counter to daemons in general.

I'd say it was the Gatling Psilencers and Nemisis Hammers that countered Daemons. Along with maybe some Misfortune and Banishment.

It's possible the Grav Cents were a lure for Daemon armies to be placed against this list or maybe they were also there as security if this wasn't matched up against a Daemon player.

For a long time now the top ETC teams will bring highly tuned lists specifically built to counter one powerful build. It's usually something not seen before or expected. I remember the Polish team bringing an anti leaf blower list the first year Nick Rose played. It consisted of nothing but Genestealers and Tervigons granting fnp. No one played anything like that ever back then and it tabled leaf blower lists all tourney long.

Heard about some drama. Welsh team accusing Ukraine of slowplaying and cheating them out of a podium finish.

Apparently some shoving and pushing going on in the greenhouse that was the tournament venue.

Anyone can shed more light on this?

It's the three dreadknights and psilencers that do it. I took flyrants and the plague star and cent star is a very tricky match up - have to play very cagey and not risk anything and get a touch lucky. I played a trip dreadknight list in the singles, ate the first two dreadknights with the plague star then tried to charge the third and lost my entire unit over two turns - fickle daemons!

The slow play thing was weird - you have to remember the outside temperature was regularly 39 degrees, inside it was worse so after five days people get quite tetchy. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Over the moon with finishing 4th! Can't wait for next year to try and podium!

There are several name/list mix ups on tof.

Its a good guide but not perfect :(

Kayu was the german captain. Something happened within the team and he was swapped to someone else. Kayu is probably one of the best players in Germany so this shows the strength of depth in the German team.

Is their an in depth tournament report the only one's I can find aren't in English.

Can any one explain that list? I really can't think of a good reason for the 2nd archon, even the Autarch is it just for reserve manipulation?
It just seams like a weak list but I'm obviously missing something guys captain of best team in the world.

I imagine it's comboing with the Archon with the Armour of Misery but it's a rather expensive combo. Perhaps this this is for preying on the likes of Tau or IG which are susceptible to leadership based attacks. I think the Autarch is well worth it with the amount of things starting in reserve.

I will enlighten you then:

The2 Archons seperate in the Raiders with the Fire Dragons allowing pinpoint accuracy to deepstriking. The raiders are for anti-knight, they deepstrike down and can land inbetween the side and rear armour, sow eherever the facing is (4++) they can bypass it.

They also are for the -4 LD and the free shriek. Drop in, -4 LD, take a test on 3d6! Great for wiping out windrider squads or marine units. No armour or cover saves! And it isnt even a psychic power so cant be stopped. You cant take both items on 1 archon hence why he has taken two.

Mandrakes are to infiltrate and stop scouting into your army or to counter enemy infiltrating.

Autarch is for reserve manipulation as the spiders usually deepstrike in depending on the baord. The Autarch can also join and tank for windriders and then split off late game to contest or take an objective, and can assault certain units, very annoying.

Swooping hawks are for added haywire attacks against mech and gives him a unit to contest late game, throw some ignore cover blasts down and harras enemy flyers.

The list does a bit of everything, and doesnt have a clear weakness, hence why it is a very strong put forward, but also has enough firepower to face off against certain lists.

Does that explain? Overall its a very solid list which behind a good player can do very well.

Thanks for the reply I guess what confuses me is the 2nd archon doesn't have a wwp so you spend 85 point to use an effect that will marginally effective against 1/2 of the armies and completely useless against the rest it doesn't work on marines.
seems like a wast but good point that it would be very effective against msu scatter bikes.

As a demons player this list has nothing that scares me kill the warp spiders then sit the screamer star and plague star on the objectives, summoning units to camp, but I guess this is a etc list and not a single tourney list so he can pick his opponents to some degree.

Ah yes appologies he doesnt have the 2nd WWP, but the raiders can deep strike, even a scatter, due to its size, you can still get a good shot off.

That absurd BOLS article said a lot about the writer Black Blow Fly, and very little about Team America. It's merely a trollish click-bait, like most of his articles. He's successful in that I assume, as I can see no other reason he's allowed to continue.
