Our local group has been playing some Wrath of Kings, there are about 6 of us playing games. One of our locals (posts as Loomisc here) runs a small blog and we are endeavoring to get some WoK content up. My initial impressions/Overview can be found there as can some WiP model shots of Loomisc's models.

It's a game I plan to get in to after I've completed my current projects (first EPIC then WARMASTER).

I already have models ready waiting to be used for when I get there!

Yeah, WoK is pretty great. I can hardly wait for wave 2.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

I am loving the game right now. Quick and simple play with a complex game underneath due to models and their interactions.

From what CMON has said they are pushing for a book every 6 months. However, the next book is not due until February. I am not sure I am going to be able to wait that long.

Yeah I have heard there were issues outside of the US. Hope they get it worked out.

I'd like to buy a box or two to check out the quality, but this game is impossible to find in Europe, and postage from the US is murder.

Anybody hear of any plans to push this game across the pond?

I have played a few games and run some people through a few, and generally it seems fun. Simple where it needs to be, but a lot of interaction and figuring out how to get the most out of stuff. People seem a little surprised at how fragile some of the bigger stuff is, and likewise surprised at how goddamned near impossible to kill Pelegarth can be. All in all, so far it is a lot of fun!

I bought some of the werewolf minis and they're amazing.

Also, check out my history blog: Minimum Wage Historian, a fun place to check out history that often falls between the couch cushions.

Swedish webstore www.alphaspel.se is selling the Wrath of kings line. They're not stocking it but will instead order it from the US for you, but at least you get around customs and massive postage fees that way.

This game is awesome, I can't grasp why anyone would play AOS over this game. I own 2 factions once i get the second based up I going to demo the hell out of it at my FLGS.

Just play Orsund Cavaliers and pull those Pelegrath right off the shield wall. I did this at adepticon and the CMON guy stated "that has to be the easiest way to get rid of them I've seen yet"

Yea, some factions have good tricks. Goritsi can use the dance troop leader to pull one out which leaves a gap in the line. For armies without the ability to move models (which seems pretty situational, so might be a problem) just using lots of 1 die attacks seems to work pretty well. Throwing multiple dice just leads to too many chances to throw a block, which will cancel other damage rolls, while one die has a flat 30% chance.

(Although we have debated whether the Zeti leap over, do one die vs every model attack counts as X simultaneous attacks which can then be shield walled, or just 1 die on each so it can't.)
