As for the Warlord, I have no interest in a big huge piece of resin that I don't really think is worth displaying in my house nor will it ever see the table. Even at half the price I wouldn't buy it.
Seeing big titans like the Warlord mostly make me think "I REALLY wish GW didn't kill Epic". Epic was such a cool game for titans and whatnot.
If epic was still around, I'd have a Warlord, two Reavers, four Warhounds, and a metric fethton of mechanised IG with Baneblade and Artillery support.
GW would get way more out of epic now that the 40k playerbase is more in the feel for larger games.
But nowadays epic would be direct competition for 40k. I'm betting if people could get their titan fix through epic a lot less people would bother buying them for Apocalypse games.
That said, you can still play epic just fine. Army lists are still being developed and fine tuned by the community ( http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/index.php), and alternative models are still being produced and are available online. It's a great game.

I wouldn't be too sure of that. A titan in epic, and a titan in 40K are truly different beasts.
My biggest purchase was a Thunderhawk gunship, IA2:2 and Aeronautica.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings. |

Obviously all of the weapons are separate, but you can also buy the head and those two massive shields as a separate purchase as well. The reason for that should be obvious, it's so you can have a choice of heads, as well as giving people the chance to make a cool diorama (and therefore make money from people who would never buy a whole Titan).

My group still plays Epic regularly. We've been playing since Adeptus Titanticanus and Space Marine 1st edition so have large enough collections that GW not producing them anymore is not a big roadblock for us. Do wish I could scare up some of the nurgle and slaanesh chaos daemon engines for a decent price, though. I have a massive chaos horde, but primarily have the khorne and generic daemon engines only.
Alas I got into 40k too late
