Models don't have an expiration date. They're still valid as long as you're not using them solely to gain an in-game advantage.

Wrath of khorne and unfettered fury are both modeled with an axe of some sort and a whip/flail of some sort. Only the insensate rage one has the double handed D str weapon. If you play against me I would just let you use the model and represent whichever you want as long as you pay for the proper points

I would expect an effort to convert the weaponry to wysiwyg.
Also the profile of the new models is much larger, so an effort at making the old thirster taller (such as a scenic base) would be appreciated.

Appreciated but not required. After all they didn't force us to rebase terminators, or more recently tac squads.

I don't think size will be an issue, considering that this guy is most certainly going to be big, and visible for most every game since he only assaults. I'd let you use it. You don't buy and paint models to play with if you can't play with em after all.
