Hi dakka.
I'm really excited for Halo Fleet Battles to come out but I'm not sure about what types of paints to use for the covenant ships or how to paint them to look like some of the models seen in pictures spartan have shown. Any recomendations or tips would be appreciated.

Could you add some images? From what I remember fro halo you caould have purple and pink areas that blend together and throw in a bit o' blue. Wow. I just remembered that one mission in halo 1 where you're on the ship. Thanks for the nostalgiaboner...

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

It would need testing, of course, but I think doing a metallic basecoat followed by a purple glaze or two might yield interesting results. In theory you'd get a kind of iridescent or shiny effect and inherent shading/highlighting. Might be worth looking into the transparent paints from Forge World (and I think Warcolors do some).

Metallics, you can't go wrong with those. honestly just more metallics.

Thanks for the replies guys. Does anyone know where I can get good purple metallic paint? I've only ever used citadel for painting.

You may have to mix some purple with a metallic medium. If I'm not mistaken Vallejo make's one, but I'm not sure nor have I tried it...

If i could ever figure out how to get the stuff.
Bottom left.
Otherwise Alclad2 candy on chrome would look nice.
Other otherwise, base metal, wash color washes over it. should look kinda shiny though gw washs kinda matt the finish.
Perhaps Metal + Tamya clear.
